We had a state rep sing the national anthem before a large political breakfast event I was at a week or so ago. She was better than most singers who perform before major league sporting events. I was pleasantly surprised.

It’s this big myth that a person is required to drop whatever he’s doing and stand in some inanimate silent salute of the National Anthem no matter when its heard. If that was the case, the Russians and Chinese could easily defeat us in battle by simply blaring our Anthem nonstop!

Looked to me like Trump acted up when the vocalist got really screechy, adding notes and syllables that were never there when the song was written. That was far from the worst National Anthem rendition I’ve ever heard, but it really did make my teeth hurt.
