Chief Justice John Roberts strikes out
American Thinker ^ | 01/31/2020 | Ed Timperlake

Chief Justice John Roberts doesn't seem to have the judicial acumen of a traffic court judge.  During the course of the impeachment trial in the U.S. Senate, Americans have now seen the chief justice have three historical strikes.  Consequently, the Senate should immediately vote to have case dismissed, against President Trump.  Our fairly elected president should be immediately acquitted of these most politically driven bogus charges in American constitutional history.

Strike one by John Roberts is simple, based on the conduct of his presiding over the trial.  It is obvious that he has been over-the-top prejudiced against President Trump by not holding House Democrat managers accountable for their gross breach of decorum.

Early in the proceedings, Chief Justice Roberts invoked a precedent from 1905, using the word "pettifoggery," to establish decorum during the impeachment  trial the Constitution makes him preside over.

Definition of pettifogger

1: a lawyer whose methods are petty, underhanded, or disreputable : SHYSTER

2: one given to quibbling over trifles

"I think it is appropriate for me to admonish both the House managers and the president's counsel in equal terms to remember that they are addressing the world's greatest deliberative body," Roberts said.  "One reason it has earned that title is because its members avoid speaking in a manner and using language that is not conducive to civil discourse."

Yet the chief justice of the United States allowed Chairman Nadler to call the president of the United States a dictator

"This is a determination by President Trump that he wants to be all-powerful, he does not have to respect the Congress, he does not have to respect the representatives of the people, only his will goes," said Nadler.  "He is a dictator."

Which of course is why the Bush family chose to elevate him to the position of High Grand Poobah over the entire Federal judiciary.

Never understood how Bush could install him as Chief Justice. Always thought it would be the most senior member.

As Justice Rhenquist said about his role in the previous impeachment, "My role was to do nothing, and I did it very well."

Justice Roberts admonished the whole lot to be civil; after that he had to defer to the participants, who had superior roles. Imagine how long this would go on if he interrupted and ordered this or that stricken. There would be objections, and utter chaos.

Rand Paul should try this:

Q for the House Managers:
"Manager Schiff: When did you provide the name of the whistle-blower to the Chief Justice so that he will know that this name is not to be uttered in the Senate chambers?"

I expect you’re right. I just remember catching the sound of his voice, not the name. You know those fat old white guys from New England all sound alike.

My question for the house managers would have been:

If a President ordered the IRS to hold up tax exemption requests to prevent organizations from working against his re-election, would this abuse of power for his personal benefit rise to the level of an impeachable offense?

Chief Obama Injustice Roberts should be impeached and removed form the court, and George W. Bush should be impeached retroactively for appointing this jerk.

“Phone. Pen. That’s all it takes, right?”
He also got by with a little help from his friends in Congress, like Nanzi, who said “We have to pass it to find out what’s in it.”
