People in a poll want witnesses because this is the first time they have paid attention to any of this. Senators should not be as uninformed as the LIVoters.
If they had not delayed things, the defenders could have finished Friday and forced the vote on witnesses before the Dims were ready with Bolton. Or so it seems.
I would have loved to see the closing end with clip after clip of the massive crowds of Americans at Trump’s rallies and a statement asking, “is this really what it is all about.?”

Her twitter feed is full of calling for witnesses, so she has an out to vote to acquit - innocent until proven, and the Senate can't convict based on a sham trial.
You have to think about it....the firing took place on September 10th and the release of the aid on September 11th.
There must have been buzzing all over the place. AND my gut tells me that Bolton was let go before the vultures showed their faces....and notice.....that all the vultures are ambassadors or close associates who think they make policy.

President Trump should make it VERY clear that he will fight all witnesses that may be hostile to him IN COURT. How will the Senate like doing NOTHING but the impeachment trial for the next few months with nothing but favorable witnesses sent up by President?

You can’t shut them up. Just get the Dems off balance and playing defense. Think about the period right after Mueller melted under the Senate lights and before the Ukraine hoax got rolling. That is the ideal. Unfortunately, the GOP Senate has shown no interest in engaging the coup. Thus giving the House Dems a free hand to attack and impeach POTUS at their leisure.
It would be funny if it turned out Bolton was asking for a delay.
