The author didn’t think it through.
He’s already said Romney would try negotiating if he were trussed up and ready to be cooked by the cannibals.
That means Romney would react the same way while babysitting this man’s kids.

Mitt Romney has backstabbing in his DNA. Look up his Dad and what he did to Goldwater.
Worse, Mitt has a real problem. He has never heard a proposition of his supposed opponents with which he was not inclined to agree. He is that person who so desperately wants to belong to the cool crowd. I can picture him in school doing whatever the cool crowd was doing but overdoing it. If they were making fun of some kid for a day, he was doing it for ten. If some style of clothing was seen as cool, he’d over do it.
He is just a solid loser who can’t be his own person. He has to be who he thinks others want him to be. He stands for nothing but thinks he is everything.
If Bolton was an ally, all he had to do was NOT bring that book out now. Impeachment was ending until this.
He an enemy. If Republicans allow witnesses, the fix is in.
Romney is negotiating the price of betrayal. When you see him in front of the camera saying maybe, maybe not, but maybe, just understand that he is negotiating. And waiting for the right text message to tell him what to do.
I would never trust Mitt Romney to babysit my kids.
