Why should the assets be protected?
The Boy Scout executive leadership used those same assets to coerce Boy Scout leaders across the country to accept their immoral homosexual rights.
It is time for the Boy Scouts of America to follow their own oath to keep themselves morally straight. Why are they not?

I suspect most of these charges stem from before allowing Gay Scout Masters. Knowing it was already an issue the decision makers allowing the Gays in should be brought up on criminal charges.

It is the same thing.
America isn't the politicians and bureaucrats who operate Leviathan...She is an attitude, a mindset, and a way of life whereby the individual is championed over the collective to facilitate life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Similarly, the Boy Scouts transcend the national office, their policies, and to a certain extent the local Councils. Scouting is, at its core, a time- and Results-tested way of youth formation whereby skills development and leadership are melded to created the men who will run the country tomorrow.
Yes, National is screwed up. But indicting the Assistsnt Scoutmasters, Scoutmasters, and Committees at the Troop level that still execute the mission of Scouting with loyalty and fidelity to Baden Powell is akin to saying the Tea Party members were Obamabots.
I encourage you to work with a local Troop where, on balance, the true spirit of Scouting remains alive.
I loved the Scouts. I earned my Eagle in 1969. But we had a molesting scoutmaster even back then. He was a high school teacher. We boys talked about it among ourselves but were too - what’s the word? Shy? Embarrassed? Awkward? - to explain it to our parents. One time he went too far (this was after I left the troop) and it all came out. It was handled quickly and privately.

A lot of FReepers defend an amazing variety of egregious and atrocious activities and organizations, and many feel personally compelled to respond with leftist aggression at the very mention of some specifics.

Boy Scouts downfall had its root in its large corporate donations, as well as its embrace of the deep state. They got a lot of money from the likes of Exxon and Intel. This paid for nice offices, big salaries and perks which everyone got used to.
In the 2000s, when these corporate entities started to get pressure from leftist culture warriors, they backed away from BSA, leaving their budget with huge holes.
Retired Sec. of Defense, Robert Gates, who oversaw the dismantling of the military “don’t ask don’t tell” as head of the Boy Scouts in 2013 removed prohibitions on gay scouts, and then in 2015, removed prohibitions of gay scoutmasters.
We left the boy scouts this past year.
The program is not what I recall it being....not even close.
When they decided to allow girls, that’s when both of my kids decided to wave goodbye.
