For the first time, a judge has denied a request to take away a man’s guns under Colorado’s new red flag law. A Limon woman claimed a man who she had a relationship with threatened her with a gun and filed the request.
Since the law took effect, the red flag law has had many gun owners seeing red. At least four requests have been filed since the first of 2020; CBS4 is aware of them being filed in Denver, in Larimer County and this one — in Lincoln County.
Many gun owners, like Jak Gruenberg, despise it.
“Red flag laws just allow for harassment of legal gun owners,” he said.
The law allows guns to be taken away from those who present a danger to themselves or others. The decision is up to a judge.
CBS4 obtained the request for a temporary extreme risk protection order filed in Limon. A woman wrote she was getting “verbal and physical threats” with a handgun from the man identified in the order.

Good for the judge not just being a rubber stamp.
Liberal MSM CBS was right on it. CBS said nothing about the two people who had their weapons confiscated because of the red flag law.

The laws are already being abused. In New Jersey, a man sues his doctor, and the doctor turns around and reports him under the red flag law.

I can guarantee that the “red flag” law gets added to the “silver bullet strategy” in divorce. The divorce attorneys who already falsely accuse a man of spousal and child abuse as part of the divorce to drive him out of the home and limit visitation with the children will be hit with this, too.
If you camp in Colorado I think a gun is needed for protection in many places.
No judge in his right mind should act on a heresy statement accusing another of being a danger to himself or others. It is Neo-Nazism pitting neighbor against neighbor.
Judge won’t say why refused. I assume no supporting evidence to enforce it.
That’s already being done.
Had a friend who lost his guns at the start of an action a long while back.
He eventually managed to get them back again after an ordeal.
I don’t get this law. It’s not going to stop anyone. I have multiple guns and none of them were purchased. There are no records that I have them. So how do they know what to take away?

Either that, or the man had the assets to actually fight it in federal court as a civil rights violation, and the judge didn't want the whole law overturned.

If he is not a psychiatrist, there is a hood chance he is practicing medicine outside his speciality.
The Dr is a lawyer and plastic surgeon who operated on the man for neck pain that did not diminish after surgery.
The police took away the guys guns. The Dr. Recorded the guys call and played it to the court.
In New Jersey and New York, you may record a conversation or phone call in which you are participating without getting the permission of the other party.
If the case had been in Denver or Boulder, the guy would’ve had his door busted in, guns confiscated, and his place trashed.
