Bloomberg doesn’t want the nomination. He wants to influence the message, and is in a unique position to spread the word without restrictions ... but he won’t actually face off against Trump.
Bernie is the only True Believer, and is the only one with no future past November. This is his last chance to spread his message on the biggest stage he’ll ever have. Losing against Trump would be honorable, taking the challenge being a win unto itself.
Nobody else wants to battle Trump. All the remaining candidates want to leverage their candidacy into a viable future; an Electoral landslide would destroy their sociopolitical futures (see Mondale). My theory is they’re saying bizarrely stupid things precisely to ensure they don’t get the nomination; they’re trying to edge their position to just behind Bernie (”golly, I _almost_ had it, but that Bernie guy snuck past me; shucks, I’ll try again in 4-8 years”).

This episode reminds me of trees, forest, and lack of hearing.
We have to remember all these dropouts will be applying makeup in their hotel rooms during the Dem convention, each one waiting for their sparkling debut as the vice presidential nominee.
For Hillary, Bernie or Biden who have mental and physical health issues making them vulnerable to a short time in office. How many times can they load Hillary into an SUV like a sack of manure? Bernie just had a heart issue. Biden? They’ll have to remind him he’s president between naps.
I think his chances for VP are gone too.
the 44 year politician Biden, the Dem’s choice, will take the nation back to the “same ‘ol, same ‘ol...the game of quid pro quo that the Trump Administration has & is getting rid of that corruption...AKA Draining The Swamp....it is no wonder that the Biden’s can do no wrong...they and many others in our government, have been doing quid pro quo for decades...giving aid to countries who chant “Death to America & Americans” while lining their pockets with gold......We’ll be going back to that corruption if the real Americans, regardless of party, cannot keep the Senate and TAKE BACK the Congress in the coming election.
He got his few minutes of fame, and collected all those contributions. This incompetent, angry idiot should just go away.
