I also deal with a lot of Millenials in my daily life, and the thing that terrifies me is that their critical thinking abilities appear to be almost at zero.
They will believe nearly ANY piece of crap propaganda coming to them through their phones, and embrace/repeat it with conviction. And they are pretty much impervious to facts when you try to convince them otherwise.
What was the ‘old’ statement...
If you are NOT a liberal at age 20 you have no heart.
If you are STILL a liberal by age 40 you have no brain.
Or something along that line....
And if Bernie gets to be President you can add “You Have No Job”
They are getting screwed but they completely fail to grasp who is doing it to them.
- tuition is vastly more expensive in real terms than it was a generation or two ago. Why? A helluva lot more “administrators” now than we used to have. Who exactly pushed for “diversity” and “women’s studies” directors? Hint: it wasn’t conservatives
- housing is more expensive than it was. Who put all kinds of building restrictions and environmental regulations which drove up costs in place? Hint: it wasn’t conservatives.
- there was no real wage growth for blue collar workers or even most of the middle class and many White Collar workers for 20 years. That’s only started to change in the last couple years since Trump has been in office. Who flooded the country with cheap labor to crush Americans’ bargaining power? Chamber of commerce types in the Republican Party Establishment and most especially Leftist Democrats.
Millennials need to wake up and realize it’s been mostly Leftists screwing them over - using accusations of “racism” anytime anybody objected to being screwed.
Yes. Obviously, not all are idiots. But you can see the fruits of Postmodernism in many young people. There is no objective truth. You can have your truth, and I can have my truth. My feelings are my truth. I don’t need to think about it, or analyze it, or uncover facts. I just have to search my heart, and I know I’m right. You, if you wish, can jump through a lot of hoops and verify stuff and prove stuff and really do a lot of work to justify your own particular truth. But that doesn’t make you anymore right than I am. So why bother with the analysis?
Young people are stupid and know nothing about life or the real world.

Because young people believe in unicorns. At first it’s the kind with a horn and rainbows. As they get older they just believe in rainbows.....with a pot of gold at the end......that came out of someone else’ pocket.
College kids like Sanders for pretty much the same reasons that college kids flocked to George McGovern in 1972. What kid doesn’t like someone who promises them free stuff? As they get older and get mugged by reality many of them will eventually grow up and become conservative.
If Sanders gets the dimocrat nomination, I expect that he will do about as well as McGovern did against Nixon.

If you have no debt, you don’t need a job and if he picks the squaw as VP may not have to worry about housing, you surely won’t be able to buy one.

Many live in a Commie world. They don't have to work yet are cared for. They are fed cultural Marxism since day one of school.

I argue with them on FB. I show links to actual facts that destroys their argument and all they have is to yell racist, homophobe, fascist.
They have been indoctrinated at school well.
McGovern was a leftist, but he was also a geuine war hero. He was against a war in which his supporters did not wish to serve. He was honest about the cost of his programs. He became a traveling debate partner with Barry Goldwater. He would be anathema in today’s Dem party.
