Iranian media has reported that British Ambassador to Iran Robert Macaire was detained and interrogated by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps.
Macaire was released after a short time...

Picked him up to let him and the Brits know they could. Probably got little real intel from him but could have “detained” him long enough to copy his papers and embassy pass card.
The Iranians will use this to gain access to the embassy when they think the time is right...
