Their proposed laws won’t make them any worse off than CA or NY. Everybody acts like this is a new thing.
Our only “legal” hope is SCOTUS, but I’m not holding my breath.
That's a ticket to having the whole of Virginia turn against you. Anyone harboring that thought would be well-served by putting the brakes on anything approaching that.
Excellent point. Most people don’t realize that the percentage of people “doing something” in the American Revolution were lower than they might think.
Prepare for the gun control side to lose in the SCOTUS?
Everybody’s always hankering for that spark :)
You’re gonna have to hanker a little longer cause the SCOTUS will take the case and they will shoot it down
I have a feeling the gov is going to find no one cares what law he passed. It will get stomped in court.
I wish it wasn’t.
Nobody would benefit from a dirty civil war.
Once they light off, they can be very hard to extinguish.
You’re right.
And at least one county sheriff has made plans to deputize many.
It should fall apart quickly.IMO
I spent five years in Tidewater, VA.
One thing I discovered was the really old families of Virginia were about as conservative as it gets. Unfortunately they are in a minority especially around Washington D.C.
I love the seal of Virginia. The back is pretty cool too. Thanks for your analysis of the situation here.
I’ll be there in Richmond during the Jan. 20 Lobbying Day. Expecting and hoping there’ll be well beyond 100K on hand.
That is the exact reason all citizens should have a ham radio available when the shit hits the fan.
AND DO NOT come back to me that this requires a license unless you want to be deemed an idiot. When the shit hits the fan, the license is the least of your worry.
IIRC this is a matter for a local yokel. All that needs to be done is someone file a violation of the law report with the sheriff.
Not me, but just saying...."Peace through superior fire power."
I agree. We don’t want a bloody civil war. I think it will be mostly small hit and run skirmishes.
In the hilly and mountainous parts of Virginia, and a lot of Tidewater, all resistors will need is a pair of binoculars, a mirror or other non-electronic signalling device, and a friend with a scoped rifle. (That covers about 3/4 of Virginia’s 43,000 square miles.)
Two guys, binos, mirror, rifle. One spotter, one shooter.
Nothing to intercept, nothing to jam.
Wouldnt have to hang more than a couple for the rest to get the message.
"Local" sheriffs and their families live among their "local" constituents. Unhappy constituents = new sheriff in town next election.
Don’t even need that, really. Just go to the homes of those committing the acts and burn em out. Find them in town and shoot them, burn their vehicles. It won’t be so worthwhile to gov when those attacking the people are on the run.
The state cannot tolerate even “small hit and run raids.”
They’ll overreact, go in very hard with cordon-and-search and checkpoints, and drive more of the local population into resistance.
Eventually LE convoys and helicopters will automatically take fire.
Action-reaction-escalation.
It’s as predictable as tomorrow’s sunrise.
Bttt.
