But what he said is true. The country is in a death spiral. Trump is at best a bump in the road. As those of us who are in the 55+ plus range, those that remember when there was still a shared morality in the country, die the America that helped build the world will die with it. Few of the Xer/Millennials I know even consider themselves to be American. They have no sense of what makes America special. They live in a virtual, digital world without national boundaries or unique cultures. And they are comfortable in it. I’ve been saying for years that we don’t just disagree on policy, but on how we see the world itself. It seems I’ve been right.
I guess we all hear things in our own way. Far from cheering the changes it sounds to me like he's lamenting them and offering his prescription, however misguided, to reverse the slide of Christianity.
His diagnosis of the problem may be wrong but he doesn't sound happy to me.
He wasnt happy with the rise of the TEA Party which wasnt a racial organization and he linked opposition to sane sex marriage to white panic. Black and hispanic communities also opposed same sex marriage.
I'm not defending his politics, just saying that he doesn't seem happy about the decline of white Christianity.
He thinks that white christianity is different than otger christianity.
He thinks that white christianity needs to atone for slavery in America and its legacy.
Jesus died for all of our sins. We didnt inherit the sins of others.
