'Impeachment Lite': Trump Ridicules Articles Of Impeachment
washingtonexaminer.com ^ | December 10, 2019

Posted on 12/11/2019 12:54:53 AM PST by Helicondelta

President Trump blasted House Democrats' articles of impeachment as "flimsy, pathetic, ridiculous" hours after they were rolled out.

"Today, the House Democrats announced these two flimsy, pathetic, ridiculous articles of impeachment," he said. "With today's announcement, they are now admitting there was no collusion, there was no obstruction of justice, and there were no crimes, whatsoever!"

Neither article of impeachment names a crime that the president allegedly committed. House Democrats characterized Trump’s withholding of military aid to Ukraine as a "bribe" for weeks during impeachment hearings, but the charge was notably left off the draft articles. The second article of impeachment alleges Trump obstructed Congress, which differs from obstruction of justice.

He went on to call the impeachment efforts "impeachment lite," slamming the process as the "the lightest, weakest" impeachment "in the history of our country by far." Trump also accused Democrats of abusing Congress's impeachment power and cheapening a solemn process.

"To me, impeachment is a very ugly word. It's a word I associate with some very bad times in our country," Trump said. "This was a big deal. They are making it so it's like, 'Let's do this every six months.' They have cheapened a process."

Al Green has already said that if Senate doesn’t convict, we’ll do it again.

They’ve lost 19% of blacks. Democrats are toast whether or not they go through with it.

It couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of folks. Live by impeachment, die by impeachment.

On some show yesterday Brit Hume went on about how impeachment was bad for the Dems it was bad for trump as after Clinton was impeached he lost support.

Meanwhile Clinton was re elected but that’s a different disgusting story.

No brit. Clinton lost support after he had an affair - and in the Oval Office- our Oval Office- with a 24 year okd- a volunteer employee - and then lied about it not only to the people and the press but to a jury. Under oath

He was a lawyer who was disbarred for this for lying under oath

Trump did nothing wrong

What’s wrong wit Brit Hume? This seemed crazy. Like he was living in a world twenty years off but also illogical

One day, it will be widely observed that it was a ridiculous time in American history when Donald Trump was (sort of) impeached and neither of his predecessors were.

The bar was set fairly low with Clinton too, as odious as the man’s conduct may have been, having consensual sex is hardly a rare occurrence for powerful men in politics. I know there were other factors in play there.

But if you wanted to impeach any president, there would probably be some case available.

The idea that these Democrats are somehow on a higher moral or ethical plane and have any legitimate reason to impeach the president is shown to be absurd. It is their crop of presidential nominees, past present and future who need to be reviewed. Perhaps the voters can handle that task.

Clinton was impeached during his second term, not his first.

Article 1. Abuse of power. Describes Congress perfectly.

Article 2. Contempt of Congress. When one of the three branches of government disagrees with another, they go to the third for redress. This should be settled by the Judicial branch, not by impeachment.

The more I think about IG report, the more I conclude how much damage Trump’s critics have done. The Steele dossier, the collusion allegation, and congressional probes undermined national unity. The allegations were false, yet MSM went in on it all. Where’s the accountability?

ARTICLES of PROJECTION

o Abuse of Power: The Democrat fake trial is an abusive witch hunt they project on to good people.

o Concealing Evidence: 3 years of investigating have found zero evidence of wrongdoing, except for the Democrat spying on Americans and their impeachment hoax.

o Criminality: The hoax is intended to hide Democrat crimes of treason attempting a coup to overturn the USA election.

Al Green—aka The Fugliest Man Alive—said they could impeach Trump over and over and over again, no limits on how many times they can impeach.

He also wants the topic of slavery wrapped into articles of impeachment. Not making this up.
