U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr has sent the totality of the U.S. media into spasmodic fits of apoplexy today as he discusses the findings of the DOJ inspector general review of a highly corrupted FISA process.
The Attorney General talks about how the FBI weaponized their official duty in an effort to carry out what seems to be a political agenda. Mr. Barr goes into detail with his thoughts on the current criminal review assigned to U.S. Attorney John Durham; and the unfortunate issues with a group at the top of the organization who politicized the FBI as an investigative agency and used an alliance of media assets to achieve political goals.
Many people are writing and asking for my personal opinion of AG Bill Barr. I shall provide that below.
Thoughts: Leading up to the trial of George Zimmerman he had two attorneys: Mark O’Mara and Don West. Don West was the deliberate and angered attorney who was rightly furious over how a completely false case was assembled against his client. The entire CTH community agreed on the value of Don West.
However, Don West wasn’t the lead attorney… there was another, Mark O’Mara.
Mr. O’Mara gave the intentional impression of being above it all, elevated above the politics, and affable to the groups who wanted to hang Zimmerman in the town square and also understandable toward the defenders of Zimmerman who recognized the rail-roading.
O’Mara became a Rosetta stone. Some Zimmerman supporters saw O’Mara as self-serving, duplicitous, cunning (not in a good way) and essentially deceiving his client by not trying to be assertive in defense. Others saw O’Mara as smart, prudent and staying above the fray to be more influential toward the benefit of his client amid circles of media opposition.
The strong differences of opinion over O’Mara were fought on the pages of CTH for over a year. Pro-O’Mara and Anti-O’Mara we both good groups of people; excellent and passionate people; but each saw Mark O’Mara in a different way.
Personally I did not see Mark O’Mara in a good light. I predicted his positioning was to gain a lucrative media gig at the conclusion of a fraudulent trial. [He took a CNN contract within three weeks of trail ending] But more important than that recognition of selfish sensibility was the evidence.
The evidence was overwhelming (at least to CTH in 2012) that Witness #8, Rachel Jeantel, was an imposter.
The anonymous Witness #8 was the only reason the State of Florida could get an arrest. Witness #8 was also manufactured by the corrupt Scheme Team of Trayvon’s family.
Completely made up.
Incredibly the corrupt State of FL prosecution team consisting of SAO Angela Corey and Bernie De La Rionda went along with a criminally corrupt prosecution using evidence they knew was manufactured.
If we knew the manufacturing of evidence to be true… demonstrably and provably true.. well, Don West and Mark O’Mara certainly knew it to be true.
Yet Mark O’Mara did nothing about it… EVER. O’Mara knew the state had manufactured evidence. O’Mara Explicitly knew his client was being railroaded by a criminal enterprise carried out by the State of Florida and Trayvon Martin Family. And Mark O’Mara never brought it up before, during, or even after the trial… Not once.
Attorney Mark O’Mara won the case because the case itself was a fraud. However, the “case” never should have gone to trial. In my passionately frustrated opinion O’Mara should have called out the fraud and defended his client by avoiding the ridiculous trial.
[NOTE: Seven years later, with Witness #8 admitting to the fraud, George Zimmerman is rightly suing all of those who participated.]
Why do I bring up this example?
Because in my opinion, having watched nine months of his professional effort, right now the metaphor is: Bill Barr is Mark O’Mara, the U.S. Constitution is George Zimmerman, and we’re about to go to trial again.

I loved Barr’s NBC interview and you have to go out of your way to see it in a negative light.
I also liked Barr’s interview.
That being said the folks at Conservative Tree House follow issues in a lot of detail and their opinions do have weight.
For a long time we have been spun by politicians who promised to be tough, only to do nothing. Trey Gowdy is one of many examples.
I was hoping Barr would do more interviews. Isn’t that he’s job?

All we are going to get out of this is Barr and other talking heads harrumphing on cable news. That’s all it was ever designed to be from the beginning.
Barr was talking to the enemy... he does more good than anyone, to change minds on what has been reported for 3+ years. The lies... the lies.... and finally someone to talk sense to the media... good news!
My suspicion all along was that Barr was in the position to protect the DOJ and FBI. That is what he stated during his confirmation as to why he accepted the job.
Unless we see indictments for what was clearly criminal behavior, my suspicions were right.
I would love to be wrong.

Barr gives a tremendous interview to Gerard Baker during the Wall Street Journal CEO Council’s annual gathering in DC.
Where did witness #8 admit the fraud?
Barr is smarter than the “average Bear/Barr”, if you’ll excuse the Yoga Bear analogy. He is very deliberate in what he is saying NOW (he does not want to step on Bull Durham’s toes or investigations).
However, in his NBC interview, he put out some slow zingers that legally knowledgeable people knew hit their leftist media and DOJ/FBI targets right in their balls.
PS: I have worked under and/or knew at least 7 U.S. Attorney Generals, from Reno to Barr (I think. I’ve been out on medical leave since early this year). Also knew a couple AAGs/DAAGs of great honesty and integrity.
I think Barr will turn out to be, in the words of “Beatoff O’Rourke”, Kamala Harris, etc., “the one the world has been waiting for”.
He’s slowly extending the “rope” with which the “Deep State” actors will hang themselves.

It’s boring and epidemic. Prosecutions such as what’s here are very complex and involve a lot of people with power, money and access.
We don’t know what’s on the back end but I’d bet it’s disappointment more than not.
After all, Hillary is still walking the streets.
No it’s not. Running the DoJ and rooting out the existing corruption is, but I’ll concede your point, doing interviews is part of his job responsibilities and I’m sure he’ll continue to do them when he has something to tell us.

Agree. We might get an indictment on a nobody like Clinesmith for altering docs but the big fish will skate. After Barr moved the Durham goal posts to this summer today I can see now we are almost certainly headed to another Comeyesque election season presser where Barr declares the obama admin guilty of illegally spying on Trump but “for the good of the country” will decline to prosecute. Case closed.

Barr has 11 months to get it done. Hope we don’t have wait too long to find out how great he is.
Barr had a stellar interview at the Wall Street Journal CEO Council’s annual gathering in Wash., DC, today, conducted by Gerard Baker, but for the life of me, I cannot find it online.
Skeptics will be moved to the “be patient” side. Words have meaning, and agreed, so do actions. Barr speaking out is not an act of nothingness. Listen carefully, if and when you can find the interview.
This time we need the trial.
The trial will many people up.
In the back of my mind, for quite a few months now, I remember reading this or a similar article from a couple of years ago or so (I googled it tonite), about James Comey (his name is redacted here in article) saying he should attend a cocktail party where this Hispanic FISA Court Judge, Rudolph Contreras, an acquaintance or friend of Comey and company, would be attending, in order to grease the way for submittal of the fake Steele dossier to FISA. Corruption of the FISA judges themselves needs to be explored, in particular Rudolph Contreras.
From an article dated March 16,2018 on Townhall.com:

Comey was to go to the cocktail party that a Hispanic FISA Judge was attending and was known to Comey in order to sway him prior to submitting the Steele Dossier to the FISA court that started the whole illegal surveillance of the Trump campaign. Why didn’t the IG Horowitz investigate the FISA Judges for corruption. I hope that Durham and Barr are checking this out for compromised and corrupt FISA Judges that rubber stamped the Steele Dossier and the investigations of the Trump campaign:

Let’s see. Judge Contreras was randomly appointed to preside over the Gen. Michael Flynn case resulting from The Mueller indictment of Flynn. Contreras was also appointed to the FISA Court and is a friend of FBI agent Peter Strzrok who was a “friend” of FBI agent Lisa Page. Strzok and Page worked for Andy McCabe who worked for James Comey who was “best of friends” with Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller who indicted Flynn and is trying to find a crime to indict President Trump. Stzrok was the FBI agent who worked with McCabe and Comey to keep Hillary in the clear and get FISA warrants to spy on Carter Page. Stzrok conducted the FBI interview of Flynn who was indicted by Mueller for lying to the FBI. Stzrok suggested in a text message to Page that a dinner get together with friend Contreras be arranged instead of a one on one meeting to cover for anticipated questions of impropriety. That text message was withheld from Congressional investigators by someone in the FBI.
We don’t know if that dinner ever took place or exactly what was to be discussed. McCabe and Comey have been fired, Strzok and Page have been demoted and moved somewhere, Contreras was recused from the Flynn case by somebody, and Mueller is still searching for something with which to indict Trump. Now the press would have you believe that these “friendships” are just coincidental and of no interest. They wish to remind you that the real problem is that Trump colluded with the Russians to fix the election.Nothing to see here. Move right along.

Case Text messages obtained by The Federalist show that Peter Strzok and Lisa Page conspired to collude with Judge Rudolph Contreras, a FISA judge who presided over Michael Flynn’s guilty plea and was later removed from the case.

The judge, Rudolph Contreras, was recused from handling the case just days after accepting the guilty plea of President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser who was charged with making false statements to federal investigators.The text messages about Contreras between controversial Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) lawyer Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, the senior FBI counterintelligence official who was kicked off Robert Mueller’s special counsel team, were deliberately hidden from Congress, multiple congressional investigators told The Federalist. While working as one of the top counterintelligence officials at the FBI, Strzok reportedly took part in the FBI’s interview of Flynn on January 24. Flynn later pleaded guilty to one charge of providing false information to federal investigators. Strzok later left the FBI to join Mueller’s special counsel team, which obtained the indictment of Flynn. Flynn’s guilty plea was accepted in federal court by Contreras on December 1, 2017. The New York Times reported the next day that Strzok, who left the FBI to work for special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, had been removed from the case by Mueller due to inappropriate text messages between Strzok and another federal official, now believed to be DOJ attorney Lisa Page.
On December 5, 2017, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, wrote a letter to FBI director Christopher Wray demanding text messages from Strzok as well as any notes he took regarding his interviews with Flynn. Contreras was recused from the Flynn case on December 7, 2017, and the case was reassigned to Judge Emmet G. Sullivan, according to federal court documents. Neither Contreras nor federal judiciary officials have publicly indicated the reason for Contreras’ removal from the case. Contreras’ office declined to comment on inquiries asking about his relationship with Strzok, or why he was not recused from the Flynn case until after he had accepted Flynn’s guilty plea. The pre-existing relationship between Strzok and Contreras and Contreras’ mysterious recusal from the Flynn case, forced or otherwise, raise serious questions about whether Flynn’s case, among others, was properly conducted.
The text messages that show Page and Strzok conspiring to meet with Contreras were originally hidden from Congress. In records provided by DOJ to Congress, the exchanges referencing Contreras, and plans to meet with him under the guise of a cocktail party, were completely redacted by federal law enforcement officials. The exchanges obtained by The Federalist include information that was never turned over to Congress.”
