If your congress “person” is a Democrat, especially if he or she is a supposedly moderate Democrat, call or email him today! Tell them that if they vote for this bogus impeachment, you will do whatever you can to see that he loses the in the next election. For bonus points, bring up the fact that the real crooks are Obama, his administration, and Biden and his sleazy son Hunter.

The Constitution does not say the Senate has to conduct a fair trial

That is utter BS.

He's right. A Senate trial is optional. It is NOT mandatory. The Constitution mandates:

1. The Senate is the only venue allowed to try impeachments

2. That Senators swear an oath for it

3. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presides if it is a Presidential impeachment

4. Conviction does not occur unless 2/3 of the Senators present vote for it.

It is up to the Senate to decide whether or not to have an inpeachment trial. They are free to decline to do so, and have actually done it once.

He can run again once acquitted by the Senate. Impeachment is the political equivalent of filing a criminal indictment.

This isn’t going anywhere and it’s awfully thin gruel to remove the POTUS from office - and Democrats can’t even tell us what crime Trump allegedly committed.

They have no case and they know it and yet they are going to impeach anyway.
