Yes, I think that is it. The press will preoccupy its time with impeachment, and all the other news will be buried.
She's also calculated that there is little downside risk to this escalation. Impeachment hasn't happened until the vote is taken. Meanwhile the accusations can flow, and the press will deem it all legitimate/correct because it comes out of Congress. The incontested facts are indeed uncontested by anybody in the press, so the DEM charaterization becomes the truth.
The press everywhere is the same. Ours is little different from that in North Korea, Russia, or Iran.
