Kelly Loeffler intends to portray herself as strong supporter of President Donald Trump, a critic of the “impeachment circus” and an outspoken opponent of abortion rights when she’s introduced Wednesday as Georgia’s next U.S. senator.
In prepared remarks obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the financial executive will introduce herself to Georgia voters as an outsider who will fight the “socialist gang” in Washington bent on defeating the president.

The difference I think is, DJT risked, and continues to risk, darn near everything. He gets no support from anyone, really. We can all sit back and comment how much we love what he’s doing, but look at what is going on. Look at how the Republican’s in the Senate have treated him. Look at how most of the House has treated him. Lots of folks blame him for some of his disastrous Cabinet picks. I don’t, except for Sessions, but no one expected Sessions to roll over like he did.
The guy is trying to drag this country out of a Socialist hole that started with Bush Sr. He’s trying to do the right thing w/ trade, the economy, military, etc. So, he takes some advice from people who “know” and has been getting shafted by Deep State scum. The latest obviously being Wray. The man can’t juggle every chainsaw.
But this woman. A relative nobody. She’s there because of her money. Kemp owes her something and this was his way of paying her, and her husband, back. I hope Collins runs against her next year and sends her fata$$ back to Buckhead where she belongs. Unless Kemp starts doing some of the work he campaigned on, he’s done as well.

A lot of us here in FR gave to Romney’s campaign when he was the last one standing vs. Obama. She also has donated $100K thus far to Trump’s reelection. So, I wouldn’t read too much into that support for Romney in 2012.

As is Trump, thankfully, because he was rich enough to self-fund his own campaign and tell the controlling donors to pack sand. Loeffler will have to wage two very expensive campaigns in two years - 2020 for the balance of Isakson's term and 2022 for reelection - so it's a good thing that she can afford it. Just like Trump.

Well time wil tell. I’m expecting to see her morph into a female David Perdue. Truthfully an African fruit fly would be an improvement over Johnny Isakson. If Loeffler falls down Kemp is a one term Governor because all the conservatives are totally pizzed.
You’re right that it is definitely more about Kemp. Absolutely. Lots of folks in Georgia wanted him to appoint Collins. Collins needs to stay right where he is, with all that is going on. I just see her as the fox in the hen house. She’ll lay low and follow the party line to set herself up for November 2020. We’ll see.
It’s a done deal now. Kemp has shown he’s just another GOPe tool. He ignored Trump and the base and I know his office was flooded with requests not to do this and he ignored them too. All we do hope she is not another Murkowski despite every sign that she is.
As for her connection to Planned Parenthood she's on the board of Grady Hospital. I think they perform abortions but I'm not sure. A businesswoman of her stature is probably expected to be on the board of Grady which is a prominent hospital in the ATL Metro area.
Do I trust her? No. That said, she's right to ask us not to assume ever "conservative" woman is a liberal in sheeps' clothing. She doesn't appear to be a "movement conservative" but that criteria alone doesn't always produce a good candidate.
Amen! I love what Doug Collins is doing on the House Judiciary Committee and want him to stay there. I don't think he would be a great senate candidate, but he is effective and re-electable right where he is.

Watch some of his campaign adds. Great that he signed the Fetal Heart Rate Bill. He hasn’t signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, though.
Last time I checked, I don’t remember seeing anything about that in his campaign ads.
What I did see is him talking about using his big truck to round up criminal illegal aliens. Well, if they’re illegal, they’re all criminals and I don’t see much immigration enforcing going on. Especially since Mayor Bottoms has declared Atlanta a Sanctuary City. That’s the same city where Kemp lives and works.
Are you from Georgia? Have you seen the Republican clowns in the state legislature? I am and I have. Every time they’re in session, you get to see all their RINO fata$$es at the restaurants on Memorial Dr. Giggling and laughing, making sure the onion farmers and builders get all the cheap labor they can stand, as the state gradually goes Democrat. All under their watch.
On a side note, Donald J Trump was never a ‘relative nobody’. Everyone knew who Donald Trump was before he rode down escalator.
Some people are reading bad things into Loeffler's seat on the board of Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital, one of largest public hospitals in America. But they might not realize that Grady was rescued from near-bankruptcy and closure in 2008 when Atlanta business leaders intervened to oust Grady's corrupt board, convert it to a non-profit organization, and pour in hundreds of millions of their own dollars. Today, Grady Memorial Hospital is successful, respected and profitable. Good on her for donating her time and expertise to this important institution.
Talk is cheap. The question will be is she going to be in Trump's corner or McConnell's? Only time will tell.

The sponsors of RIFRA decided to focus their energies on passing the Fetal Heartbeat bill in the last session, believing it to be the most urgent. I believe they were right. RIFRA is their top priority for the upcoming session which starts next month, and Governor Kemp has already committed to signing it.
