Yiddish can get along quite well without his two cents. Still many have it as a first language, and there are newspapers and theatrical and cinema productions, too. He can use his award to administer enemas. I picked it up spontaneously, living and working in NYC and Buffalo, and hearing it spoken.

Films and TV during the 1950’s had lots of vaudeville actors who used a lot of Yiddish words. As a pitcher-eared child I picked up number of Yiddish words and phrases.
