Those Sexual harassment charges against Gordon Sondland look like Kavanaugh-esque smear
American Thinker ^ | 11/29/2019 | Thomas Lifson

Ambassador to the EU and recent House "impeachment inquiry" witness Gordon Sondland vehemently denies allegations of sexual harassment made by three women, concerning behavior before he entered public life, and has announced that he is not resigning.

The allegations carry a strong odor similar to the smell that came from Christine Blasey -Ford and other women who attempted to derail the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.  Ashe Schow, writing in The Daily Wire, connects the dots:

The media are once against using sexual misconduct claims to tarnish the reputation of a man connected to the Trump administration.

Just as they did with Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the media now report that three women have accused Gordon Sondland, the U.S. Ambassador to the European Union, of sexual misconduct. Their allegations relate to encounters with Sondland more than a decade ago, yet they are just now making their claims, as Sondland's name is in the news as part of the Democrats' impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump.

Exactly as was the case with the Kavanaugh allegations.  As Schow notes:

Sondland had previously undergone a public confirmation hearing to become an ambassador, yet none of these allegations surfaced at that time. It is only now, when Sondland is involved in the impeachment hearings, that these women have come forward — and each have an ulterior motive for doing so. (snip)

In a letter from Sondland's attorney, Jim McDermott, the ambassador denied the allegations and explained that each woman had a motive to malign Sondland. "Notably, what each of these three women share in common is that they pursued Ambassador Sondland for financial and personal gain — an investment, a job, and insurance brokerage work

Lifson is a knee jerk conservative willing to say anything to help the cause whether it makes sense or not. I seldom give the guy much credit.

As for Sondland, that fickle person of poor character has nothing good coming. Personally I find the women’s stories credible and believable. They are not exaggerated, fantastical or over the top. They are the typical mundane disgusting stories many young professionals could tell. Unlike kavaugnah these stories have the ring of truth. Sondland is a dirtbag as far as I am concerned.

As much as he tried to incriminate Trump over and over, he was forced under oath to admit that he had no knowledge of any crime, and was just assuming. In doing that, he gave Trump the best soundbites of the entire charade. He destroyed the entire narrative of quid pro quo, intimidation and bribery, and corruption. For THAT, he must be destroyed.

Just a week ago Sondland was an “important” witness for Schiff and had “bombshell” testimony.

Now he’s a Trump insider for the #MeToo crowd?

Boy, this is confusing.

Apparently Sondland was caught in the middle. He bad mouthed Trump yet he didn't go far enough to incriminate Trump.

So now everybody hates him.

I don’t know anything about Sondland, except that he seemed a pretty fatuous sort in the hearings. But why didn’t these accusers ‘come out’ when he was appointed ambassador?

Why do rape victims wait years to say anything?

Why do combat soldiers wait generations to describe their ordeals?

So, do you think Kavanaugh’s accuser was credible?

No. The Kavanaugh accusers we’re lying. Their demeanor told it all. Fake, phony, made up. Excessive ridiculous details designed to outrage. Professional liars.

Well, we haven’t witnessed the ‘demeanor’ of Sondland’s accusers.

I’m very tired of women putting themselves into situations where a man might misinterpret their ‘availability’ - and then bring it to world wide attention many years later, often at a moment when it’s coincidental to certain political concerns.

(Also tired of women who think they are equal to men in every way, but play the victim card when it suits them.)

There was no rape involved in these stories - but who knows, we may eventually see someone come out of the wood work alleging that, as well.

Unless there is a filed police report and the incident is less than 3 years ... I would look into it, otherwise, mark it off as Fake News.

Yep - it’s the Left doing the deed to anyone they don’t like and who they can “tie to Trump” who is the real target...the guy had no ammo they needed because he didn’t want to perjure himself (just a tad more than he wanted to hurt Trump), so they try to strap a vest on him and hope the blast reaches the President.
