There are so many issues out there that the GOP can use to drive a wedge between minorities and Democrats. This is one of them and it is completely legitimate. Illegal immigration is another.

Prior to Teachers Unions the US rank #1 in k12 education among Western nations (including Russia) and Japan. Now we no where near #1. IIRC we are in the bottom third. Time to ban public sector unions. If the tax payer pays you you should not be aloud to collect bargain.

It’s been a 150 years and the Black Community still hasn’t figured out that the Party of Slavery, The Democrat party, wants to keep them On the Plantation. Pathetic.

Dinesh D’Souza explained that Blacks were all Republican until the Democrats figured out that they could buy the votes of desperate Blacks during the Depression.

Blacks at the time knew they were leaving the Party of Lincoln for the Party of the KKK. It was a wrenching choice. Which I guess makes modern Blacks just as happy to stuff that history down the Memory Hole.

Republicans never really accepted that the Democrats had the Black vote until after the 1960 election - Nixon expected to do much better with Blacks that year than in fact he did.

Subsequently the Southern Democrats died off, and their children became Republican. The Democrats call it “the big switch” claiming that Sothern Democrats just became Southern Republicans - but of the two thousand Southern Democrat office holders D’Souza found in his research that only about a dozen didn’t die as Democrats in good standing. Famously including Strom Thurmond.
