Conservatives Sound the Alarm over Kelly Loeffler’s Potential Senate Appointment

Conservatives across the Georgia Republican base have sounded the alarm over Gov. Brian Kemp’s potential appointment of Kelly Loeffler as an interim Republican senator. Georgia conservative activist Debbie Dooley called her a “country club Republican” in an interview with Breitbart News.

As Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA) is set to retire shortly, Gov. Kemp has two potential options to nominate as an interim Georgia Republican senator: Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) and financial executive Kelly Loeffler.

Collins is the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee and has served as a staunch supporter of President Trump during the impeachment inquiry and of the president’s agenda.

Kelly Loeffler, a Romney, Ryan and democrat contributor!

What a surprise that she's being considered.

A repeat of Alabama and Luther Strange.

No doubt McConnell would LOVE Loeffler over Collins. Then if Loeffler is appointed she'll be the incumbent and McConnell will convince Trump to endorse her over Collins in a primary fight next year, leading to a party split and democrat victory.

The Establishment's maneuverings have become so predictable. One of their own or a democrat. Those are the choices, especially when it comes to the senate. No REAL conservatives!

Why can’t the GOP ever elect a fire-eater in what are reliably Red States?

I know Georgia is turning purple, but the point still stands.

That is WHY Georgia is turning blue. If you’re a dem, why get an ersatz liberal republican when you can vote dem and get the real deal?
If you are a repub, the differences between a romneybot and a dem are at best, academic so you don’t care enough to fight.

And why is the choice two women? Are there no men left in Georgia, like in California?

Having watched them for a long time, it’s very simple. The powers that be ACTIVELY work to prevent REAL conservatives from getting into the senate.

If they can’t get a moderate-liberal republican, they’d prefer a democrat.

In states that are more prone to elect a real conservative, they scheme to prevent a conservative from getting elected, because the usual “only a moderate can win here” argument won’t work.

It’s happened again and again.

Is Doug Collins a woman? Weird name. The knock against her for me would be giving up a House seat, unless it’s a safe hold.

You nailed it. This IS the RINO Establishment’s plan to sustain themselves. Limbaugh has stated this many many times as well. So, you’re in good company with your analysis.

The Establishment Republicans would much rather lose to dems than lose to Patriotic Nationalist Conservatives. The Never Trumper republicans epitomize of this fact.

“Collins is the one-brainer pick!!!”

I’ve found him impressive whenever I’ve seen him on TV.

That’s the main issue, then. Do we want to lose him in the House?

It is possible.

Some other Republican will probably win that seat.

A repeat of Alabama and Luther Strange...No doubt McConnell would LOVE Loeffler over Collins.

And a repeat of McSally over Kelly Ward, and now sessions, et nauseum.

The turtle wants ass kissers, not principled conservatives. He only rubber stamps Trumps judges because his chamber of commerce masters regard commies as bad for business
