Liberal media outlets were thrilled at Shepard Smith's first public remarks since abruptly leaving Fox News last month. Smith hosted a dinner of the Committee to Protect Journalists, and proclaimed he was donating a half million dollars to the group. Michael Grynbaum at The New York Times reported he called "for a steadfast defense of independent journalism, while offering a few subtle barbs at President Trump’s treatment of the press."
Subtle? “Intimidation and vilification of the press is now a global phenomenon. We don’t have to look far for evidence of that,” Smith said. “Our belief a decade ago that the online revolution would liberate us now seems a bit premature, doesn’t it? Autocrats have learned how to use those same online tools to shore up their power. They flood the world of information with garbage and lies, masquerading as news. There’s a phrase for that.”

I never considered Shep to be a journalist.

Oddly I don’t recall Mr. Trump doing anything like that, which really should have been impeachable.
Shep was a radical gay militant, placed in Faux News to help destroy Faux News.
It is possible he may have succeeded.
It depends if Faux wakes up from the dream world they have been living under for the last 10 years.

It’s called propaganda and the Ministry of Propaganda are masters at it.
The Committee to Protect Propagandists would be a more accurate name.
I can’t think of a single reason I should give one single damn about what Shep Smith says.
Independent journalism my ascot. Shemp never once investigated anything and just respewed PR releases fed to him through twitter and Facebook. He injected his own subjective opinions into his “journalism” and never once fact checked and, in fact, defended Fox News when they went to court to protect their right to lie as journalists.
He was a fag as far back as the hurricane in New Orleans. I cannot stand abominations.
