The Supreme Court makes its own rules, just as does each Branch where the Constitution is silent. But as I say, I’m convinced it will be a moot point this time around. As Jimmy Cagney rightly judged about Ensign Pulver, Nancy Pelosi “wouldn’t have the guts.”
I've said before that Nancy Pelosi hasn't been acting rationally ever since President Trump took her European Vacation plane away after the SOTU flap.
She's been blinded by rage since then.

Whoever the chief justice is is the person who presides over an impeachment trial.
Roberts cannot be the chief justice if he is going to be a witness.
Which means someone else has to be the chief justice so they can preside over the impeachment trial.
Yea but will it be temporary until the trial ends then Roberts can return as Chief Justice?
I read all the comments (to #85). Seems to me Roberts will do whatever he wants. I mean, look at how he ruled a-tax-that-is-a-tax-isn’t-a-tax.

What we have with CJ Roberts is a very intelligent smooth talker with lots of fancy words telling lies and giving us more evidence that “it depends on what the meaning of is is”.
