I'd add Albany, but it's a very small city.
How many Rats beat New York Republicans in 2018? I can see everyone of those seats swinging back to GOP.
Gotham always carries New York state to Rat victory, but upstate can fill up on GOP Reps in the House.
“”Stefanik deserves re-election””
Heard on Hannity last night that Hollywood “big names” have been contributing heavy money to the dem who is running against her since the pressure she put on the witnesses and panel this week. She asked for donations but I didn’t write down the info. Maybe we’ll run into it as time goes on. She certainly does need to stay in there.
Have a friend and a few relatives left in the Ithaca area and politics is one thing we don’t touch on in conversations. An old high school friend who was widowed a couple of years ago was asked out for lunch or coffee from a member of her church and she found out he was a REPUBLICAN and of course, couldn’t allow herself to be in HIS company! They are so brainwashed, it is pathetic...I don’t understand it but don’t allow myself to waste time trying to figure it out.
Cueball is attempting to strangle upstate with the fracking ban.
The Dem morons are always oversampled.
“..upstate New York is Trump country. And I mean BIG time. “
If only Upstate could dump NY City.
Upstate is the soft underbelly of NY vis a vis Trump. Exactly his kind of region. I’m hoping that his cultural clout as an author of part of the NYC skyline, coupled with the long-standing economic slump of upstate and the southern tier might actually turn the state of Trump. It’s a long-shot, but it’s doable.
I dont think its doable. There are city blocks in New York City that have more voters, Democrat voters, than the voting population of some upstate counties.
That being said, Trump should totally schedule a rally in upstate New York in some out of the way place where it would totally mess with the minds of the rats,
I get you. Even if it’s a pipe dream, it’s worth scaring them into spending resources there.
Plus there’s the popular vote count. Every POTUS who was elected with an electoral college majority but a popular vote minority has had to endure serious disrespect, going back to John Quincy Adams and Lincoln, and up to and including DJT, Dubya, and Bubba. Only POTUS who won the popular vote during the current era was Dumbo, who had a comparatively easy time governing. DJT could use some New York voters regardless of carrying the state or not, just to get the popular vote.
I have my doubts about Albany, because as the state capitol it has a huge Dem population. Buffalo and Rochester are rust belt, so they might go red. Don’t know Syracuse.
Are you sure? Ithaca has the only gun manufactory in the state.
They’re targeting her. Count on it.

You forget that not all five boroughs are monolithically Dem. Staten Island is practically always Republican. Queens, I’d call a swing borough, based on my experience living there. Then there’s Brooklyn, and there you have several neighborhoods such as Flatlands, and the Chassidic enclaves of Canarsie, Borough Park, Crown Heights and Williamsburgh, that have plenty of Republican voters.
Rudy Giuliani was elected twice, and only lost narrowly to Dinkins in their first match-up.
My money is on a long-shot upset win of NY by Trump. If it were any other billionaire, I wouldn’t believe it. But Trump is as NYC as the Empire State Building and the subway system. You couldn’t imagine a NYC without his imprint and his Trump shtick. He’s a legend. There are stories about him of the sort that only legends rate. That, plus upstate support and the miserable governance from City Hall and Albany, will in the end turn the state.
He’ll have to do a few rallies, though.
Actually, the Buffalo suburbs are fairly conservative. Buffalo proper, not so much, considering the large minority population.
