We need to see Hunter under oath since this “investigation of a political rival” is the entire basis of the impeachment. If we don’t know the motive was to create false charges in a foreign country, how’s there a crime?
Obviously, real crime was Hunter Biden being used to launder millions from Ukraine, China, and (I hear) Romania.
Hunter deserves the presumption of innocence. First suspicion. Then investigation. Then indictment (grand jury, still private). Then trial (now public). Prior to trial, the matter should be confidential. It was wrong for the leaker to reveal this matter to the public. I think we were still at step one. But, what has been seen cannot be unseen. Trump’s defense is merely that there was cause for suspicion and - obviously! - there was.

Hunter Biden is small potatoes... The corruption that is "the swamp", I'll wager goes plumb to the top of the DNC, the State Department and the Intelligence community.. Maybe old Shifty Schiff himself even has a piece of the action..
