Apple unveiled its iPhone 11 line up Sept. 10, rolling out three variants: the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max...

Sales of the iPhone have been robust in the months of September and October, Bloomberg reported, citing internal calculations based on data released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, or CAICT.

CAICT is a unit of China's Technology Ministry.

Apple reportedly sold 10 million iPhones in September and October, a 6% year-over-year increase.

The CAICT report said Chinese domestic smartphone shipments came in at 34.6 million units in October, representing a 4.5% drop, and accounted for 96.2% of the total mobile phone shipments.

The other potential big expansion, in India, is still ahead.

You gotta admire Apple’s steps in the “trade war”!
Of course a company that’s not as fantastically rich as Apple may not have such steps available.

Personally, I suspect Apple is helping the US gov in many secret ways, especially to rebuild our espionage in China.

I got 7 1/2 years out of my old IPhone 3gs. When I finally went for a new phone, the sales staff at the store was amazed it lasted as long as it did.

More than likely Apple is helping China spy on the US.

Heh... there’s a decent market for used iPhones, but of course at some point Apple drops software updates, and the network hardware updates leave behind older phones of all kinds.

Yup, II wholeheartedly agree. And unlike some CINOs, I admire people who succeed.

Yeah, but they got there on their own. Companies that aren't that rich had just as much chance to make it big as Apple did.

One of my sisters really liked her (non-Apple) phone, didn’t want to change phones, it worked great, and (like her brother) she regards a mobile phone as a communication device rather than an alternative lifestyle. :^) She finally had to say goodbye at one of their contract renewals because the model wasn’t supported any longer.

My old IPhone 3GS crashed around the time the IPhone 10 was coming out. There’s no way I was about to pay $1000.00 for a new IPhone, so I payed $120.00 for an Android LG K30. Hopefully I get 7 1/2 years out of it.

I’d be willing to shell out perhaps $400 for a feature phone/smart phone, but I’ve never had one, so I’d probably be headed for the most durable one. The Android phones have the same kind of obsolescence problem over a period of time, but I’d want something that I could rely on for a long period time, since I’ll have to learn how to use something. If Apple got its head out of its ass and put SIM card slots into their pads (nice big screens for my tired old eyes), I’d be there in a heartbeat. Apple won’t though, because they’d be undercutting their own most profitable product line. That could change of course, assuming that AppleTV subscriptions take off (I don’t know why people try to watch movies on the relatively tiny screens of phones).

Won’t talk about the past, but I’m sure Apple’s stepping very nicely to Trump’s tune these days. They’ve too much to lose.

Good for y’all, I’m used to just getting abuse for treating Apple as a company out to succeed...
