Complete title: US meat supply is riddled with feces, doctors claim in a lawsuit against the government in a bid to wipe fecal matter from our food

The government maintains a 'zero tolerance' policy on feces in food

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine says that only applies to 'visible' fecal matter

They filed a lawsuit against the USDA on Tuesday calling for tighter regulations

The US meat supply is riddled with fecal matter, a new lawsuit against the government claims.

While the government maintains a 'zero tolerance' policy on feces in food, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine says that only applies to 'visible' fecal matter.

They say the rise in E. coli outbreaks linked to meat is evidence that invisible traces of fecal matter are slipping through the net and into Americans' kitchens and stomachs.

The North American Meat Institute, which represents meat packers and processors, insists E. coli is not exclusively linked to feces. ('A swab of phones and keyboards would likely find E. coli, but that doesn't mean there is 'poop' on your phone,' they wrote).

But the Physicians Committee does not agree, filing a lawsuit last Tuesday -- the latest in its eight-year battle to wipe feces from the meat supply.

While the government maintains a 'zero tolerance' policy on feces in food, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine says that only applies to 'visible' fecal matter

The Committee's vendetta began in 2011, when they conducted a study on 120 chicken products sold at 15 chains in 10 US cities. They found 48 percent of chicken had fecal matter that hadn't been weeded out.

In last week's lawsuit, they say that proportion has risen.

They do not provide new study data to back it up, but they say a change in how chicken is processed...

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is a wacko animal rights bunch.

Complete hacks.

Not to mention this piece is from April 22, so there's absolutely NO reason to post this now. Or ever.

Shocker, meat is bad.. testosterone boosting red meat even worse. Soy boys everywhere demand you eat a plant based diet... the ligands bind whatever bit of natural sex hormone you have left and voila... chromosomes are irrelevant.

At the Dynachrome mansion, you would get your daily quota of cat hair in your meals. Maybe some mutilated grasshopper parts, also.

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) is a non-profit research and advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C., which promotes a plant-based diet, preventive medicine, and alternatives to animal research, and encourages what it describes as "higher standards of ethics and effectiveness in research."[2] Its tax filing shows its activities as "prevention of cruelty to animals."[3]

The PCRM's relationship with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) was highlighted in the 2000s. Barnard wrote a column, "Doctor in the House", for PETA's magazine, Animal Times. Barnard and PETA president Ingrid Newkirk both sat on the board, until 2005, of the Foundation to Support Animal Protection, a PETA-related group that donated $592,000 to the PCRM in 1999 and 2000. PETA itself gave PCRM $265,000 between 1988 and 1999.[1] According to a 2004 Newsweek article: "Barnard has co-signed letters, on PCRM letterhead, with the leader of Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty, an animal-rights group the Department of Justice calls a 'domestic terrorist threat.'"[36]

IDK...
I remember how much worse tuna got when they kept dolphin meat out.
Maybe a little feces gives that ‘special’ taste?

Nasty. They are probably talking about product from CAFOs, not smaller operations, but it doesn’t say.

The meat packing industry has nothing on the filth in the media.

We are force-fed psychological feces on a daily basis.
