No trial.

The Senate should send any articles of Impeachment to the trash bim. The lack of due process, the lack of direct evidence, the self serving aspect of fabricated low tier bureaucratic evidence politically motivated.

The Constitution supports the Senate in trashing any “Articles of Impeachment” made up of whole fabricated cloth. The way to do that is in Article I, clause 9 of the Constitution, which prohibits the House from passing a bill of attainder.

The Mach One roll-out, every Dem and his cousin in place to impeach....
the intricate scheduling, the minute details..........that took months of meticulous planning.

Yet no-no Nanzi kept “saying” there’ll be no impeachment.....lying to Americas....as she was planning every frickin’ detail to get Trump.

Remember when Mueller listed supposed “obstruction events” in his report?

Except his version of “obstruction” is anything you might do to defend yourself.

The very same MO egomaniac Schiff is using.

The whistleblower was sent packing....no longer needed. ....just a crowbar to open the door to impeachment.

Schiff slipped up and was heard to say he was “Building a Case” for obstruction.

Everytime Trump does something to defend himself, the flailing Schiff
grabs onto it like a drowning man going under for the third time, reaching for a lifesaver.

Very interesting and completely plausible read.

I highly recommend that all who haven’t read it now. A couple of times for good measure.

The president is lucky he has such corrupt and incompetent enemies. Adam Schitt for brains is a creepy bastard who spent time with his good friend Ed Buck who is a perverted homosexual who overdosed two black men by injecting them with chrystal meth. Schitt took a lot of money from Buck the criminal. How many drug fueled gay orgies did Schitt attend at Buck's house? How many drunk men did he inject with drugs while they were too intoxicated to stop him? I bet it's a big number.

# 3: What are these senators supposed to do? Do they put their campaign stops on hold for a month to be in the chamber and watch the trial, giving their opponents a huge ground game advantage? Conversely, do they skip the trial in order to campaign and eventually vote to remove a president even though they didn’t bother to attend the trial? Neither of these are very attractive options.

This point is wrong, as no member of the Senate can engage in campaigning during a Senate trial. They may not be required to attend the trial in the Senate (not heard about that aspect), but they are still prohibited from campaigning.

I think the word should be “WILL” not “WOULD”. There is no way this impeachment train is going to be stopped in the House.

The only interesting question left is when do they kick it over the fence to the Senate.

The problem with January is that five Democratic Senators are running for POTUS and would like to be campaigning in January. Iowa and New Hampshire are both in early Feb. this year.

And, the further it goes on, the worse for them (and better for Biden who doesn’t have to show up in D.C. to vote for anything.

So, that’s what I find amusing.

McConnell should hold out and schedule the vote for the week of July 13 - the Democratic Convention.

Yet the GOP Senators will stand fast this time because they know that if they are weak in defending Trump, the GOP base will be furious and in a retaliatory frame of mind against them.

I don't think Democrats will get a successful vote in the house, primarily because of the Kim Clement video.

What's that? Got a link?

My take on the Democrats is that they operate like a mob, so individual conscience will play no part in this. Think a pack of wolves bringing down a deer - it will be like that.

So, I am sure it's going to the Senate

I think the best case for the President is the one that Lindsey Graham has laid out: the Senate votes to dismiss the charges preemptively, based on the fact that it was a sham impeachment in the House, and that they failed to follow House precedent, or provide any sense of fairness.

I think it is more likely there will be a trial in the Senate, which will be time consuming and provide another platform for Team Donkey to dennigrate Trump on live TV for 6 hours a day.

My favorite trivia question is "Will Roberts wear the 4 stripe robe like one that Renquist wore for B.J. Clinton's impeachment. This is something the Left is really hoping for.

Trust me on this, as I have known quite a few candidates and politicians over the years. They all want to win, serve as long as they want with easy re-elections, and eventually retire on their own terms instead of being defeated or otherwise run out of office. And they want to have privileged political access even after they are gone. For a GOP Senator, voting to remove Trump would be political suicide and cost them all of that.

So, I look at these and I don't see the same downside for the House. I mean basically, the House just wants to pin the scarlet I on Trump, and once they have done that they don't really care what happens in the Senate. They understand he's not going to be removed. But that doesn't mean that the Scarlet I has no value, it's great for Dem talking points in the 2020 campaign, which is what this is really all about.

Look at his points, they don't seem like anything a Dem House member would lose sleep over:

1. Losing Control Of the Process

But over there in the House they have vicious, mad-dog ideologues running the process, with no sense of fair play. Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi, etc. In the Senate you have nice guys who play fair like Lindsey and Mitch. I'm sure the Senate rules if it goes to trial will be fair.

I have even heard suggested that there will be a motion to have the Impeachment judged by a "panel" of the Senate, not the whole Senate. This to accommodate the five Senators running to replace Trump. Under this scenario a "bi-partisan" panel of 12 would be appointed, and only 9 would need to vote to remove under this scenario.

Maybe this is fanciful, but it's interesting that I've already heard more about plausible Democratic plans to use the Senate effectively than vice-versa.

2. Oh Hi, Hunter Biden. Maybe. But it's more likely that Mitch plays it straight down the middle and the trial is circumscribed as to evidence to only that directly supporting or disproving the articles, not a larger goat-rodeo about everything that happened vis-a-via the Ukraine.

3. Senators On The Trail

Yes, January is inconvenient. New Hampshire's pretty close to DC though. And the five running for POTUS will skip the hearings and just show up to vote. Which the committees will bend over backward to accommodate

4. Republican Unity

It would be good if it existed. The Kavanaugh hearings are offered as an example, but it was a near thing that almost work.

5. The Odds Of Winning Are Not Good

I agree, But, so what. So they Dems in the House can "only" do what was done to Clinton. That's gonna be plenty for use in their propaganda, which is the main function of this fake impeachment.

*****

I suspect most Democrats feel the odds of getting something of value from the Impeachment far out weigh the risks, and they are probably right about that, given the dispositions of the players involved.

...An impeachment trial would leave the field wide open for Biden, however, being called before the Senate to testify, along with Hunter, would effectively kill his campaign, allowing Hillary! to be the 'savior' to step into the nomination on a 2nd or 3rd ballot...

Actually, I think it helps Bloomberg the most. Right now he is the greatest threat.

states like NJ, NY, CA, MA and so forth, their blue gains will increase.

Does that matter? None of those states is in play--no?

“I’ve seen enough to know to not count on the Senate GOP to have a spine. If there ever was a time the left (i.e. Soros) would bride and blackmail Senate members into a decision, this would be it.”

complete bullshit ... 50 GOP Senators signed onto Lindsey Graham’s resolution to condemn the House Dems ...

“No trial. The Senate should send any articles of Impeachment to the trash bim. The lack of due process, the lack of direct evidence, the self serving aspect of fabricated low tier bureaucratic evidence politically motivated.”

Lindsey Graham keeps saying that any impeachment sent to the Senate is dead on arrival ...
