Wow seriously- great presentation by Professor Valentina Zharkova on the affects of Magnetic fields and Climate. She has modeled the sun as a dynamo with four magnetic fields and used data from the past four centuries to prove her theory - then projects Solar Incident (SI) on the earth for the next 10, 000 years.

Not only does she predict a Solar Minimum, but global warming starting 30 years from now, “even if we move into caves”; Man made warming won’t be the problem

She spend the first 45 minutes going thru her research, then starts conclusions at 45 minute mark; followed by questions by fellow scientists

Time to buy farmland in the northern climates?

[[Not only does she predict a Solar Minimum, but global warming starting 30 years from now,]]

Wait- we’re supposedly spontaneously combusting right now- so she’s saying global warming hasn’t started yet? Dang- the incessant alarmism of the left when that happens is gonna be intolerable if it’s this bad now, and global warmign hasn’t even really started yet-

One of the reasons why when we relocated I chose to stay in a lower latitude. I believe we’re going into a decades long cooling period where some northerly venues could experience significant cooling trends.

Grand Solar Minimum apparently leads to twice as much cooling as a Maunder minimum!

Her point is, the sun is a dynamo; the solar incident on the earth has peaks and valleys AND, it is the MAJOR contributor (“principle component”) to climate change - man made contributions are minor compared to the sun’s own internal Clock.

From your link:

Zharkova models solar sunspot and magnetic activity. Her models have run at a 93% accuracy and her findings suggest a Super Grand Solar Minimum could begin in 2020.

A Super Grand Solar Minimum would have four magnetic fields out of phase. There was about 40-60 years of cold weather 350 years ago. This was a Maunder Minimum of lower solar activity. The historical cold weather had two magnetic fields out of phase.

Zharkova is predicting a cooling effect that is 2.5 to 4 times larger than the Maunder minimum.

FOUR snowstorms in the Idaho Panhandle in September and October! That is unheard of. Of course, now we have a stagnant high pressure mass stuck in the northwest and warmer temps.

grrr. lots of fancy words and charts but nothing about How Cold it Will Get. Can't watch the video right now as the wife is sleeping. She works part time third shift.

So I looked up maunder minimum which led me to Little Ice Age

""" Early European explorers and settlers of North America reported exceptionally severe winters. For example, according to Lamb, Samuel Champlain reported bearing ice along the shores of Lake Superior in June 1608. Both Europeans and indigenous peoples suffered excess mortality in Maine during the winter of 1607–1608, and extreme frost was reported in the Jamestown, Virginia, settlement at the same time.[25] Native Americans formed leagues in response to food shortages.[24] The journal of Pierre de Troyes, Chevalier de Troyes, who led an expedition to James Bay in 1686, recorded that the bay was still littered with so much floating ice that he could hide behind it in his canoe on 1 July.[48] In the winter of 1780, New York Harbor froze, allowing people to walk from Manhattan Island to Staten Island.

The extent of mountain glaciers had been mapped by the late 19th century. In the north and the south temperate zones, Equilibrium Line Altitude (the boundaries separating zones of net accumulation from those of net ablation) were about 100 metres (330 ft) lower than they were in 1975.[49] In Glacier National Park, the last episode of glacier advance came in the late 18th and the early 19th centuries.[50] In Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, large temperature excursions were possibly related to changes in the strength of North Atlantic thermohaline circulation.[51] """

The above comes right after https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Ice_Age#Depictions_of_winter_in_European_painting

I'm putting up a high tunnel in my garden this Spring. Good timing

Think I’ll increase my home insulation soon. Get some good quality red long undies. Maybe build a thermal mass firebox in the basement (less smokey for the neighbors).

Proggies, greenies and Millennials will then be praying for global warming, in their 55F homes (to afford heating), wishing for more fresh food and remembering warm summers.

Jump to the 45 minute mark to hear her conclusions and questions from the skeptics - she has hard science that is repeatable and stands her ground. The takeaway for food is, you will need to rely more On green houses and short season crops.

Yep, she is right on the mark. I remember when she first explained all this. And we are starting to see it happen already.

So, maybe the Mexicans will go back to Mexico to harvest more crops grown there? Pump the water we won’t be using down there?
