I view my wealth as belonging to God. I am not attached to it, but am merely the temporary custodian using it according to God’s will. I do my best to not play God.
Giving wealth away in the current environment is frequently enabling the poor rather than helping them. There is an e excellent book, “Toxic Charity” that describes this process.
I once helped a client give a million dollars to a few charities anonymously while relatively young, rather than waiting until he died and no longer needed it. really got it as he selected charities that provided opportunities for people who were tired of playing victim and desired to grow out of the rut.
