Congressional Democrats have announced the first public hearings next week in an inquiry that may seek to remove President Donald Trump from office.
Three state department officials will testify first. So far lawmakers from three key House committees have heard from witnesses behind closed doors.
The impeachment inquiry centres on claims that Mr Trump pressured Ukraine to publicly announce an investigation into political rival Joe Biden.
Mr Trump denies any abuse of power.House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff, who is overseeing the inquiry, told reporters on Wednesday that an impeachment case was building against the president.
He said: "We are getting an increasing appreciation for just what took place during the course of the last year - and the degree to which the president enlisted whole departments of government in the illicit aim to get Ukraine to dig up dirt on a political opponent."

I was told the D party committed suicide during the Clinton impeachment (and about 81 times since then). And yet, here we are.
Shocking thing is how low the American people have sunk.
Obama and Hillary worked to dig dirt from Ukraine contacts about candidate Trump. Political rival of Hillary’s.
Spent money to get a phony dossier and illegally requested FISA warrant based on knowing lies. Dossier was fiction and the media pushed it as factual.
Spent two years knowing there was Russia collusion only between Dems and Russia and Ukraine but absolutely nothing on Trump. Media deliberately slandered Trump for two years and we lost tax money in the $40 million range due to Mueller.
And....The American people say “Trump is guilty and should be removed from office.” And say zero about Obama,Hillary and Comey.
Outrageous and unforgivable.

so while the Clinton impeachment may have been misguided (we can discuss, debate), any fallout from it would have hurt those conducting it (R’s)
this one’s fallout, and there’s a great deal of it given its obvious BS character) is falling right on the D’s heads.

The Democrats and their media collaborators trying
to hound another Republican president out of office.
Even manufacturing evidence, twisting facts and using
their media friends to try to brainwash the American
public that Pres. Trump is evil and corrupt and deserves
to be removed from office. They started in on him
before the election even started.
I believe all of this was planned way before Trump
even thought of running. They were waiting for the "right"
conservative candidate to spring in on.
Obama had eight years to corrupt the FBI, CIA
the DOJ and the high echelons of the military with
his left wing lemmings. And he turned them loose on Trump.
