During Friday’s Democratic Weekly Address, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Eliot Engel (D-NY) stated that President Trump’s actions in Syria have shown that “there’s no longer real leadership coming from the Oval Office. Now, it’s on Congress to step in.”

The video clip below might be the defining moment of his political career. It's a CNN segment from 2012 where the campaign to grant clemency for Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard was the topic of discussion.
Freepers today might be delighted to see him get his ass handed to him by former Federal prosecutor Joe DiGenova, who originally prosecuted the Pollard case back in the 1980s.
Congress has the Constitutional authority to declare war. If they want a war in Syria, they should declare one. Let’s see how that plays next November.
It is not a pro pr con position on Trump’s Syria/Kurds policy to realize/admit that his actions show there is total leadership from the WhiteHouse, not the DOD, not the State Department, not the “diplomats” and not the bureaucrats in general. The “leader” is the President, the Commander In Chief, not those who report to the President and not those who work under them.
All Engel is really doing is registering his chagrin at Trump not leaving the deep state in charge.
