Pelosi Attempts to Rein In 2020 Dems With This Unsolicited Advice

Over the last 10 months we have seen Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) struggle with keeping her caucus in check. Months ago, she made it very clear the House would not move forward with impeaching President Donald Trump because of the it was an issue that divided Americans. She lost that fight to the extreme progressives of her party, in particular the freshman “Squad” consisting of Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA). Even though she can’t control her caucus – or the very chamber she oversees – Nancy has a word of advice for the 2020 Democrats: even though the base loves the candidates’ progressive views, those views are too fringe for a Democrat to beat President Donald Trump in the general election.

“What works in San Francisco does not necessarily work in Michigan,” Pelosi told Bloomberg News on Friday. “What works in Michigan works in San Francisco — talking about workers’ rights and sharing prosperity.”

“Remember November,” she said. “You must win the Electoral College.”

Pelosi believes it's a mistake for the 2020 Democrats to focus only on courting their very base of hardcore progressives instead of focusing on middle-of-the-road, moderate and independent voters that are needed to take back the White House next year.

“As a left-wing San Francisco liberal I can say to these people: What are you thinking?” Pelosi said. “You can ask the left — they’re unhappy with me for not being a socialist.”

The Speaker took a swipe at Medicare For All, a plan backed by the majority of the Democratic presidential candidates. She takes a similar position to former Vice President Joe Biden: instead of completely gutting the Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as Obamacare, and replacing it with Medicare For All, Democrats should build on the measure.

“Protect the Affordable Care Act — I think that’s the path to health care for all Americans. Medicare For All has its complications,” she said, noting that “the Affordable Care Act is a better benefit than Medicare.”

But Medicare For All isn't the only issue Pelosi worries about. She sees independents' skepticism surrounding AOC's coveted Green New Deal.

“There’s very strong opposition on the labor side to the Green New Deal because it’s like 10 years, no more fossil fuel. Really?” she said.

Her third point of contention has to do with deficit spending. While most on the progressive wing of the party want to continually spend more money to implement new policies, the Speaker believes it's paramount for Democrats to allocate funding as they go along.

“We cannot just keep increasing the debt,” Pelosi said.

The biggest reminder she had for the presidential candidates vying for the Democratic nomination was to quit trying to go further left.

“Bernie and Elizabeth own the left, right? Is anybody going to out-left them?” she asked.

“What works in San Francisco does not necessarily work in Michigan,” Pelosi told Bloomberg News on Friday”

Looking at the two, I’d say she’s - sadly - wrong on that count.

It's jaw-dropping amazing that Pelosi scheduled a Bloomberg News sit-down for the sole purpose of scattering the weekend news coverage of the impeachment vote, and making sure her strategy of flooding-the-zone would work by calling out Bernie and Faux as nutrooters.

I hate to ruin your day Democrats....but, your Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is as dead politically as the nearest door nail!!! Unless you dump her right now and totally reform your entire political party to a center/left group...you can kiss the 2020 POTUS race goodbye..and the control of the POTUS, House, Senate & Judiciary.

Trumpie gonna win it all!!! Why? Simple...Trump rally Dallas, Texas - 53,000 people, Trump Rally, Tupelo, Mississippi - 20,000 people and.....Lexington, Kentucky & Monroe, Louisiana coming up in the next few days!!!

Democrat POTUS Rallies...”Nothing to write home about”...Biden is toast, Warren is toast, Sanders is toast!! All of them are toast!!! Hillary Clinton...too, is toast!!! Have fun Dems...with you two nutcase, buffoons, Adam Schiff & Jerrold Nadler!!!

My husband taped the interview she did with Cobert, the night of the impeachment. I could barely sit through that, she lied repeatedly. She said the "transcript" is not a transcript but "notes" from the phone call. She corrected Cobert when he called it a transcript.

So they are going to impeach him on what the transcript "notes" did not say? She was so sad about having to enforce the Constitution, she said the word Constitution 10 times!

I think the following comment is a stretch and how and why it errors questions the author’s premise:

“Over the last 10 months we have seen Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) struggle with keeping her caucus in check. That comment suggests that Mr Schiff is not doing exactly what Pelosi wants, yet it is clear he is doing exactly what Pelosi wants. I doubt seriosuly that Schiff is acting to satisfy the freshman “squad” and not Pelosi.

This is how loopy, how depraved, how low the Democratic party has sunk:

They trot out San Fran Nan as their "voice of reason"!

Yet she’s still part of the problem; not the solution.

Every minute of every day is dedicated to her removing our duly elected President. What has she done otherwise since becoming the majority speaker again? Nothing.

She will never get over her cancelled government paid vacation for her friends and fellow criminally insane dems when the government was shut down. Trump should not have needed to cancel that trip. She should have done it herself but she is blind to American optics.

This little insight is just so obvious even Pelosi can see it. You can bet her handlers have also pointed it out a number of times just in case she didn’t get it the first time.

These extreme progressives are nothing more than a quartet of nitwits, and they have no power in Pelosi's caucus at all.

In the impeachment debacle, Pelosi has lost the fight to the party's wealthy donors, not anyone in her caucus.

“She maybe nuts but she’s not dumb.”

She was BRILLIANT in 2006, when she took back the House that time. She told Dems in purple and even red districts to say whatever they needed to win, just be with her on the key votes. They won, and they promptly voted with her. It took 4 years to clean them out time.

"Internal polls must be devastating"

It is amazing when Trump can successfully accuse Nancy and Schuck of gridlock, but gridlock is what has doubled the market since Trump took office. The animal spirits were unleashed and the House has stayed out of the way.

The deep, deep irony here, is that Robotox is calling out Faux precisely for proposing a bill that would tie Nancy's House in knots.
