Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Friday it's possible that controversies beyond Ukraine could be part of the impeachment case against President Trump.
House Democrats have recently sought to narrow their impeachment inquiry to the allegations stemming from an intelligence community whistleblower complaint that said Trump tried to pressure Ukraine to initiate politically charged investigations in return for the release of congressionally approved security aid.
Trump's dealings with Ukraine have united nearly all House Democrats around their impeachment probe, though many had previously pushed for impeachment over the president's efforts to undermine former special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's election interference.

In other words, they wanted anything even if it is totally ridiculous to get the camel’s nose in the impeachment tent.
Can’t find enough new mere allegations vis a vis Ukraine to keep the pressses going, so have to witch hunt in some more dry holes, and from there produce some more mere allegations.
The goal is to drown Trump, via the media, in lots of unproven allegations, so that to the sheeple, the mere weight of the volume of unproven allegations is enough for “impeachment via the press”. For the Dims election purposes that is all they want.
All the witnesses that have willingly appeared were selected as being anti-Trump. And all their testimony has been "opinion" at best.

The idea is to use the inquiry, and compliant judges, and compliant agencies like SDNY prosecutors (who are going to publicize tax returns) to conduct an open-ended inquiry, no time limit, in the effort to find something, anything, that can be cast as a high misdemeanor.
Don’t worry Honey Nan, THE investigation is spanning several continents.
If President Trump cannot PROVE that he is being harassed in a Court of Law, then there is something wrong with our Justice system.
An inquiry in search of legitimacy.
