High winds are bringing in the high temps from somewhere warm.

Yes, it’s called the Maria Fire and it started on a Mountain between Santa Paula and Somis. Lots of avocado groves and some oil well heads in danger. It’s about 4,000 acres and it only started about 3-4 hours ago. Fast moving.

The drone is still up, the helicopters are still grounded, and the fire rages on. Someone needs to shoot that drone out of the sky.

They do. I think I heard someone say that a fixed wing plane was going to do a drop but that the choppers were still grounded.

Ours isn’t digital and just shows a rounded 34 degrees. It’s still cloudy and that’s helping a little. If the clouds move out soon, we could see the upper 20s that have been predicted.
October came in with upper 90s and went out with a frosty blast.

I’ve been up and down and missed the report about the plane doing a drop. I hope that’s correct. Maybe they sent it up when the firefighters asked for help a little earlier and helicopters were all busy protecting structures.

A very pleasant good Friday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Beach for this morning's thread.
WE had 3 trick or treaters come to our house last night. It was cold bu a great time nonetheless.
How was your Halloween?

I guess the plane is big enough that the drone couldn’t damage it and also they fly higher than the choppers do. But it’s still totally out of control. 7400 acres now. Just announced over the scanner.

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Did you head out to the lake with Gizmo yesterday or decide, “Naaaaaah,” and stay home?
No trick-or-treaters here since we live well off the beaten path.

Yep, just heard the report on its size. Ten times its size in 6 hours. :-(
The smoke shows up on radar.

I hope neither of those locations have a fire during this scary time. I’ll bet your family can smell the smoke.
