After setting off an internet firestorm last week when they apologized for serving lunch at an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement detention center in Batavia, the owners of Lloyd Taco are apologizing for last week's apology and are hopeful they will not apologize in the future.
"We take responsbility for what transpired last week but we want to emphasize that we don't take sides," Lloyd Taco co-owner Pete Cimino said Monday. "That's what people did in social and traditional media in the last few days. We respect their right to express their opinions. That's something that makes this great country great."

There is no apology to the workers at the ICE Detention Center and when asked if they would return to the ICE Detention Center, the owner says, 'I'm not going to answer hypothetical questions.'
What has been said can not be unsaid.
People need to quit apologizing unless they really and sincerely mean it.
Best thing to do when serving the public is to just shut up.

Pretty sure they took sides with the first apology.
But give them credit for backing away from that mistake and standing up and acknowledging they were wrong to have apologized in the first place.
They are like a lot of companies who buckle under from the relentless social media pressure from liberals to back down from their actions for fear of offending their customers.
These folks realized their customers were their side to begin with and wanted to set the record straight about their initial apology.
I say good for them. It takes a lot in today's partisan culture to stand your ground and fight back from the Left's toxic hatred.

Some one local to me (and a name in the need you would recognize) said he went to a Lloyd’s trick and Mr woke beard liberal started to scream at him and told the server not to serve him.

It was a list of why they believe they're the good guys. (We pay our taxes. We pay good wages. We employ people. We run a business that feeds people.)
They didn't apologize to the people at the ICE Detention Center and refused to say if they would serve them again.
It was a non-apology.
To paraphrase a meme: If, without asking, I know the politics of my taco vendor, maybe he doesn’t know much about customer service.

There was no relentless social media pressure from the libs in this case. From the article:

Also, an earlier article here (FR) indicated they’d only had 18 negative responses from the Left when they made their first apology.

It sounds like they also lied about their values if they’re retracting their first apology.
Their business needs to go under.
Yep, I heard Mike C. say this too. The owners of this biz really should not have stepped onto PR Battlefield, they should have hired a Pro, someone like Mike C., to handle the whole thing. The owners are not Public Relations experts.
The real reason they came out with this latest apology and press conference is because both their truck outside, and stand inside the stadium at the Sunday Bill's game were dead the whole day, just a trickle of biz. People were posting pics of their empty truck and counter all day on social media.
They should have never APOLOGIZED in the first place... That was their mistake.... knee jerk reaction to the loud morons.. now they have angered the middle.
Someone complains I sell my food to someone, too bad, get bent... I make tacos, I sell them to hungry people, of all shapes, sizes, creeds, religions, and jobs... You got a problem with that, then go live on your commune at eat wheat germ and tofu you smelly hippie freak.
If conservatives don't like something, they find a source that they do like. They change the channel. They shop at a different store. They eat at a different restaurant.
But if liberals don't like something, they don't want anybody else to have use or access to it. They don't go somewhere else. They want to put them out of business.
I don't think conservatives need to follow the lead of liberals dislike of things by demanding that the company needs to go out of business. We can just eat somewhere else.
If so, how are we any different than the hateful, intolerant Left?

I’d like to see the enemedia, for example, all file for Chapter 7.
Some biz like a lib restaurant, I just wouldn’t patronize.
Maybe I should have, but a lot of apologies nowadays are non-apologies. People don't know how to say they're sorry anymore. Everything is spun or couched in carefully scripted language.
There's always something that others do or don't do or say or don't say, that offends someone.
People who get into the public spotlight in this day and age, can't win for losing. No matter what, someone isn't going to like what they say or do.
