In most cases, the people who agitated for that action were outsiders, not residents of the cities (and sometimes entire states) where the monuments were located. RevCom types, among others. And our schools are churning these people out, for decades now.

It’s hard to stop in black municipalities like New Orleans or very liberal places like Charlottesville or Chapel Hill

Note some places like Alabama and Missisissippi and Texas and Tennessee and others have state laws baring locals from doing so

I think Louisiana does now

That’s the issue though is liberal or black local jurisdiction
