A family friend moved from Arizona to Pittsboro with her family last year, and so far they love it. They’re conservative and in their 30s, but her father lives in NC too and he’s a raging liberal.

So how many German soldiers are buried at Arlington?
Japanese?
Vietnamese?
Nada- zero-zilch

Arlington has strict rules about who gets buried there...

So how many German soldiers are buried at Arlington?

There are some German soldiers buried at US national cemeteries in Europe and in the US. And there is even one buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

They were prisoners of war. That they are buried in US military cemeteries does not make them US veterans.

Arlington has strict rules about who gets buried there...

They had and have strict rules about who gets buried there.

But those rules were bent or broken - in spite of the objections of US veterans of the Civil War - in the name of national reconciliation to provide graves for some of the Confederate dead.

As so often happens, an attempt at doing a kindness ended up just making more trouble.
