Among the U.S.’ 50 largest school districts, CPS teachers’ pay ranks No. 1 for teachers with a bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience, No. 2 for first-year teachers with a bachelor’s degree, and No. 3 for first-year teachers with a master’s degree.

Yeah Liz, we really want to support a union that always puts the children and their parents last. We’ll get right on that.

Clearly, if Teachers Unions voted Republican she would be against the strike.

I think PUBLIC EMPLOYEE UNIONS should get everything they ask for plus more. Raise their pay, cut the size of the classes, increase their pensions, give them large bonuses every year.

As it is public employee unions are like parasites killing their host slowly, I want to turn them into large predators and kill their victim quickly.

It is only a matter of time before public employee unions bankrupt us. There are no honest negotiation between union and management first because in this case “management” is not paying out of the profit of their company and so have no real concern about cost, and second when “management” gives unions more money, it comes back to “management” in the form of campaign contribution.

Public employee unions and politicians have been committing fraud against the taxpayers since the beginning.

Sure, give them everything they want plus more and when there is no more money, no more taxes, no more bonds, no more free lunch...let them all starve.

The despicable pandering by the fake indian should disgust and/or sicken ‘everyone in America’.

My goal is to destroy the public school systems in this country. I hope the teachers never go back to work.

If you combine socialism and open borders what do you get?

Answer: a third world hell-hole.

This link is to a chart on the Second City Cop blog. It shows what cops get and what teachers get. Which someone would shove it under Lizzie's nose and ask to justify the info contained in it.

It’s not just the pay. It’s the cadillac health care bennies and the pensions. Taxpayers are being beggared and their so-called public servants don’t give a damn.

I spent my career in public education. Happily in a non-union environment. The hypocrisy of the claim “we’re doing it for the children” is breathtaking. I knew someone who dared to cross the picket line in a Chicago teachers strike. She was shunned by her colleagues, who she thought were he friends, for the rest of her career.

“Give me more money! It’s for the children!”

Imagine the strength of the teachers’ bargaining position if they were remotely competent at their jobs.
