That’s a valid point. But relying on them in 2020 is no different than relying on them in 2019 as this guy suggests.

This assumption doesn’t play like it played in 1984. Trump needs to play like he will lose Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsy. What states will he need to pick up in order to get to 270 if he loses these three states. We have to keep in mind, Hillary was a no-show in 2016. People were pissed off about it and it showed.
Trump has to assume this will not happen in 2020. If Trump loses those 3 states but picks up Minnesota and a couple of votes from Maine, he wins.
