Schmidt also sabotaged Sarah Palin's impact in the campaign by doing no push-back on the smear done by Saturday Night Live. He wanted to marginalize her as much as possible even though her charisma would have given McCain the Presidency. I think Schmidt was a Democrat mole and McCain, perhaps, used him to throw the campaign.
