LONDON It was billed as the day that might break the Brexit deadlock. In the end, as with everything else in this tortured process, Saturday delivered more confusion and delay.
Abuzz with anticipation, the British Parliament gathered for its first weekend sitting in 37 years, a marquee event billed as "super Saturday."

Trump should announce an EO declaring Free Trade with the UK, to be adjusted as needed over time.
The British Commonwealth of Nations was displaced by the EU for trade. That was a condition for Britain joining the EU. It remains a natural trading bloc (not coincidentally — trade was one of the driving forces for colonialism). Combine the Commonwealth with the USA, and we have the Anglosphere trading bloc. That would be something to behold.
Trump is not advocating free trade with the UK. Trump is advocating fair trade with the UK. Free trade and fair trade are distinct. Fair trade is better than free trade. Americans should favor fair trade over free trade because fair trade is fair to all parties, ie not just favoring nations with weak economies. IIRC Trump has explicitly stated his support for a fair trade policy with the UK in the very recent past (within the past few weeks or so, IIRC).
