Colorado Poll Has Cory Gardner Trailing By Double Digits In Senate Race
Hot Air ^ | October 18,2019 | ALLAHPUNDIT

The hopeful caveat comes right up front: This is a Democratic poll and there’s fully a year to go before Coloradans vote.

But the caveat comes with its own caveat. An independent poll of the state conducted by Emerson in August found Gardner trailing John Hickenlooper by a similar margin. Emerson had it 53/40. Today’s Democratic poll has it 53/42. Normally it’d be implausible for any incumbent senator to trail by double digits in a swing state, but … Colorado’s not much of a swing state anymore.

It’s blue enough that Hillary managed to win it in 2016 when virtually every other battleground across the country was tilting towards Trump. And Gardner’s not facing some rando next fall. Hickenlooper is a twice-elected governor (and before that a twice-elected mayor of Denver), probably better known to most voters there than Gardner himself is. It’s certainly possible that this really is a 10-point race right now.

This one is probably gone, but still hard to see Senate control flipping to the Dems.

Colorado has been invaded from California,..the state is blue now...

I moved there in 1980 and it was a red state and purple in Denver,..

Left in 2000 there were to many people ruining the state..

You could not drive to go sking it took forever...

Polls are bogus now for decades. Wait and see. They’re trying to keep you depressed and hope you stay home.

Gardner is a POS. Hopefully someone is primaring him. Oh, and he is a sure vote to impeach Trump.

Ahhh... analpundit - always worrying about GOP losses but happy when Dems win and sad when GOP actually enact their platform.

Dude I’m worried!

I worry Maine might be gone too since they do that stupid rank voting. At least 1 republican lost in 2018 due to rank voting. Don’t remember the circumstances but do remember hearing it. Yes both Gardner and Collins can be pills, but having by them keeps the senate in republican hands which set the rules and other stuff. Just think how great life would be if we had kept the house with just a few seats.

Seems to me that the Dems are in control of the Senate right now.

If only the GOP actually believed in something, stood for something, fought for something or even did anything at all.

But they don’t.

So who cares about them.

This one is probably gone, but still hard to see Senate control flipping to the Dems.

If the GOP flips Alabama back then that'll offset this loss anyway.

Yep, CO worked very hard to get him in and then he did a McCain-Flake move.
McCain was only popular with Dems in AZ and everyone hated Flake.
It only ends one way.

Not a surprise.

Gardner refuses to side with the citizens and the rule of law.

Primaries are a better way to deal with Bush League Republicans rather than hand seats to Democrats.

They believe in endless wars in the Middle East, outsourcing jobs overseas, and more tax cuts for Wall Street. Once Trump leaves office, they’ll pretend that his platform was never popular and go back to the same old.
