Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg rejects calls for Trump's social media to be shut down in exclusive interview

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has responded to calls for social media companies to curtail President Trump's activities on platforms such as Twitter.

"My belief is that in a democracy, I don’t think that we want private companies censoring politicians in the news," Zuckerberg told Dana Perino in an exclusive interview airing Friday on "The Daily Briefing."

During the interview, Perino asked Zuckerberg about Sen. Kamala Harris' demand that Twitter shut down Trump's account, which the president uses regularly to share his views on a multitude of issues.

I would suggest one single improvement for Facebook. Once you hit ‘enter’ for a posting....it has a life of only 48 hours, and then automatically deletes.

These people are dangerous. Who the heck advocates against freedom of speech? Only the worst kinds of people. If you oppose freedom of political speech you respect no civil or human right. I respect their right to say it, but despise them for saying it and think they should be shunned and widely condemned as the dangerous demagogues they are.

I dunno if he’s the least bad. But you’d have to be a friggin’ fool to be the guy who pulls the plug on the right of the POTUS to speak freely.

The last I knew, the United States is not a democracy.

Actually I think they have implemented or will be implementing something like that soon. Not 48 hours, but I think it’s 1 year or 5 years I’d have to look it up. And there is some sense to it, who wants to be held accountable at age 40 for things they did at age 17 or 19? Look at how they treated and interrogated Justice Kavanaugh. Truly despicable, forcing him to answer for what other people wrote in his yearbook 30 years prior. It’s absurd.

Thing is, nothing on the internet is really ever erased. However, there are other platforms out there. There are apps that will delete the messages and the senders name the minute you open the message. But that’s a little different than these social sites.

As usual leftist bs. “I don’t think that we want private companies censoring politicians in the news.” He has no problem with censoring information he opposes. Conservatives are gradually finding other avenues to get their ideas out. If Trump is banned it will accelerate the demise of Twitter.

If it were, lynchings would be a respected expression of vox populi, and there would be no freedom of speech, and most likely a whole lot more dead people.

My guess is it’s coming...but still too early. They don’t want to leave time to prepare alternatives.

Maybe months before November 2020 I expect Twitter, FascistBook, etc will all shut down Trump and many other conservatives sites.

Would be pure and utter censorship (obvious to anyone with 2 working brain cells).

Perhaps this leftist clown is finally having it sink in that he would be seen as an OBVIOUS enemy of America (a pure apparatchik of the diseased leftist agenda) and might bring ruin on himself and his company from the sane half of our country.

I’m sure he will have more covert ways to abuse america (so called ‘algorithms’ censoring free speech in the usual leftist way).

BOYCOTT

~~~
He can’t.
Trump is too big.
If they are going to remain the monopoly of social media that they are and not allow some splinter/upstart a crack into the market, the last thing they need is to do something this blatant. For the most part, they are happy to target the lesser but effective conservatives and non-liberal because it tends to stay off the radar of most Americans when it happens. That would not be the case if it were Trump
