Republicans in Congress: Time To Walk Away
American Thinker ^ | October 17, 2019 | Peggy Ryan

Today the big question in Washington is, will Democrats actually impeach a president of the United States without cause, without a crime?  Scary, right?

But we're told not to worry, because even if House Dems impeach, the GOP will stop it cold in the Senate.  So desensitization worked.  Just say "impeachment" over and over for three years until the threat that used to set off alarm bells now barely moves the needle.

But even though people aren't up in arms, Washington's unholy trinity, (Democrats, media, and the Deep State) don't want their coup to look like a coup, so they gin up plausible offenses.  The Deep State spies, and media lie to frame a president: Russian collusion, proven false; obstruction of justice to the Russian non-crime; and now the "whistleblower" Ukraine complaint, again debunked.  Yet Democrats still demand impeachment. But can they impeach without a crime?  Fact is, they don't need no stinkin' crime; they have a House majority.  They can impeach the president for his two scoops of ice cream should they so desire.

Is this how our government was set up, to allow one party to singlehandedly remove a president from office for no reason?  Yes and no — it's true the House needs only a majority to impeach, but a "party majority" was never the intention of our founding fathers.

<snip>

The founders setup a government by the people, now including 435 Representatives and 100 senators, to represent every citizen in every state in the Union.  So a farmer from Nebraska and a stockbroker from Wall Street are both equally represented in Congress

Maybe you are right...or not. There is no way to know for sure until it plays out.

Right now I believe all of them in the Congress (maybe 1 or 2 exceptions) are azzholes of the highest order and taht includes both sides.

Press criminal charges for issuing false subpoenas based on known forged signatures.

You did see that revelation today, right? Gives Trump a solid hook to investigate the basis of the alleged subpoenas, slamming Pelosi & co hard.

It’s going to reach the point where impeachment becomes just another tool in the political arsenal.

Yep, if the dems do this because they don't like Trump (they have no evidence of a crime or even wrongdoing) then when there's a republican House majority and a dem President the automatic go to response will be to impeach that dem Prez. It will mean nothing then either; just more kabuki theater and posturing.

The dems should just stock up on Midol and vagina soreness cream. They would at least get some relief from their cramped up triggered suffering that way.

The hatred of Trump is bipartisan in The Swamp. And, as Rush said again today, hatred of us for daring to vote for him.

I also prefer to fight fire with fire but am not certain those would work. Since the constitution is silent as to whether or not the senate must hold a trial if impeachment occurs, there’s a simple solution. The senate’s self imposed rules does require a trial which normally takes 2/3 to change but actually can be done with 51 votes like both McConnell and Reid have done to confirm judges. Just get 51 senators to sign a pledge to alter senate rule and dismiss this farce without the trial. I don’t know if McConell would be willing??

How about fight?

Why is Pelosi and the crew allowed to do what ever they want, while the GOP prances around like baby deer around their dead mother?

Call for investigations on Pelosi’s husband’s for starters.

Erica Thomas, Jessie Smollett and Amari Allen all used really, really bad judgement for themselves and to their family's IMHO however, Dr. Ford, did the most egregious and deliberate lies of all...she tried to destroy a man with her lies, in so doing she went a long way in destroying his family also. The person she did the most harm too was Christine herself...she managed to annihilate any vestige of her own decency for the rest of her life.

Because as much as we hate the democraps for doing nothing, Republicants are even worse. They have not supported Trump on doing the things that they themselves ran on and swore they would do. There’s only about ten that are worth a crap. They rest need to be voted out. Vet people that swear they will do what Trump wants to accomplish. We have to stop voting for incumbents. They all need to be flushed out and fired!

That is a thought that occurred to me this morning. Why can’t Trump or Barr charge these Dems with sedition? This is a blatant coup, not a silent coup. There is no reason for it, so it looks like sedition in my book. These Dems and Never Trumpers shouldn’t be allowed to get away with this.
