I know little about warfare, but have read that carriers are not the future of war. Is that true?

I don’t know, but it’s a good thing Trump is pouring trillions into our military.

No, not true. The need for air superiority over vast swaths of ocean means they will be viable well into the future.

They’re not the future. Not when a single nuclear cruise missile can take one out.

Soon the Chinese apologist will pipe in on this thread saying they are decades behind us and nothing to worry about.

I take their military buildup, very very serious.

China is outspending the US 200 to 1 on AI and is stealing the rets from college campuses.

Yeah it’s over for us.

And there’s NO clandestine military projects going on.

You’re right.

I surrender.

And look up apologist cause you obviously don’t know what it means.

Fried an Iranian drone like an egg last month at sea.

Took seconds.

But you know all that the US military is up to.

And you’re wrong. They’re outspending us a gazillion gazillion to 1 on AI!!!!

Which is ONE of the reasons why we need to develop effective defenses against hypersonic missiles. Work is being done in that regard. Work is also being done to develop EFFECTIVE defenses against attacks by swarms of autonomous robotic drones,

IMHO, we need to accelerate that development.

Carrier groups will continue to be needed to project power where needed in the world.

No I love carriers I think the age of carriers is over. China is trying to fight the last war.

In the age of improved submarine technology, stealth aircraft, autonomous drones, long-range ballistic missiles they can hit moving targets, etc. have rendered carriers into sitting ducks.

The future will be battleships armed with rail guns, protected by force fields and drones. The next war will be fought with monsters like this that will dwarf the Yamato.

Our own military said China is outspending us 200-1 on AI and we are not doing enough.

Oooooh Really tough. Iran, the same group of camel humpers who have been working on building an atomic bomb for the last 20 years while the US did it in 4-5 years.
