A Tisbury School crossing guard has been relieved of duty and had his personal firearms confiscated for alleged threats to the Tisbury School overheard by a waitress at Linda Jean’s restaurant in Oak Bluffs.

Stephen Nichols, 84, of Tisbury, who said his career with the Tisbury Police spanned six decades and who served in the United States Army during the Korean War, told The Times he made no threats to the school, but had criticized its school resource officer in a conversation with a friend. He said the conversation was taken out of context.

Update: Re-instated

Probably not. After hiring a lawyer, it is probably not worth the cost of the firearms. However, what is a huge concern is that you’ll end up on some “terrorist watch list” and everything that you do will be watched. Not a conspiracy theory.

Also, you probably won’t be able buy new firearms, too.

Red Flag Laws working exactly as intended.

To disarm as many ordinary citizens as possible by any means necessary.

The story is nonsensical. Apparently a well known community member and school crossing guard criticizing the behavior of the school resource officer is a crime now in Tisbury:

Nichols said he was unimpressed with the Tisbury School resource officer’s alleged trips to Xtra Mart to get coffee when children came to school in the morning. While dining at Linda Jean’s a couple of weeks ago, Nichols said he told a friend about this and suggested somebody could “shoot up the school” in that officer’s absence, which he described as “leaving his post.”

Nichols said the waitress made a complaint to Tisbury Police about what she overheard and on the strength of that, Saloio and another officer relieved Nichols of his crossing guard duties while he was in the midst of performing them and subsequently drove to his home and took away his firearms license and guns.

“He came up and told me what I said was a felony but he wasn’t going to charge me,” Nichols said of Saloio.

Getting coffee instead of guarding the school must be a vital right for the Tisbury police. Admittedly the chance of a school shooting on the island of Martha's Vinyard is slight, but criticizing a police officer for leaving his post to get coffee isn't evidence of anything other than a concerned crossing guard who values hard work and dedication.

The police don’t need to tell you the truth when they talk to you. Oftentimes, they will confront you “strong” in order to see how you react. Calm outrage and open truth telling usually means that you’re the innocent party.

It is PERFECTLY sensible. And not the first time i have heard of such things.

He criticized a Police Officer. The police retaliated against him. The Chief of Police yanked his LTC. Without the license he is unable to legally own any firearms. And then as he was deemed “unsuitable” those same police knocked on his door, confiscated everything they could find.

“luckily” for this guy, the police let a relative that had a valid LTC take possession of the guns.

Otherwise they would go into “safe storage” / “bonded warehouse” where they charge ridiculous fees.

The amount accrued/ owed quickly grows to triple+ the value of the gun.

But as the bonded owner is “reasonable” he will forgive the massive debt if they are just allowed to take possession and liquidate the assets.

lather, rinse, repeat as necessary.

Additionally, acc to the first article, the waitress has a child at that school, but is said to have waited two weeks to report the incident.

Thank you cyn. I knew something sounded rotten in Tisbury when I read the sketchy story.

Well, well, well - now it comes all into focus. Explains why the SRO is such a slacker, and gets away with it. Nichols should be commended for spotting the issue and trying to alert people to it. Matter of fact he needs to find a maddog attorney and go after that bunch - conspiracy against civil rights and official oppression are in play there.

I copied and pasted this story to my sister who lives on MV. Her reply: “Yep. It’s gone viral. Very juicy between the lines. Personal sh*t stains all over the waitress, the School Resource Officer whose wife is vice principle at the school, and the Tisbury Police Chief. Nothing more than a personal vendetta. And get this: WAITRESS DID NOT REPORT THE REMARK UNTIL TWO WEEKS AFTER SHE HEARD IT.”
