A new report about the relationship between President Donald Trump and Fox News alleges that hosts Chris Wallace and Martha MacCallum criticized and mocked Trump during a closed-door meeting last month.
Fox News hosts Bret Baier, Chris Wallace, and Martha MacCallum attended an event in Manhattan to assure advertisers that Trump doesnt own them, according to a piece published Sunday in the New York Times.
The Times report continues:
Contrary to the opinion of some people, hes not our boss, Ms. MacCallum said, marveling at Mr. Trumps criticism of Fox News for airing interviews with Democratic presidential candidates. It is kind of shocking to hear that he really thats the way he thinks about how we should cover the election.
Mr. Wallace joked about the presidents tendency to compare him unfavorably to his father, the 60 Minutes legend Mike Wallace, who died in 2012. He often likes to say about me, You know, I was covered by Mike Wallace, I liked him much more, Mr. Wallace told the advertisers. To which my reaction is always: One of us has a daddy problem, and its not me.'
This report comes as another rift has apparently taken place between Trump and the network.
The president reportedly has a good relationship with the weeknight opinion hosts such as Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham, but he has repeatedly taken issue with some of the daytime news hosts for what he sees as unfair coverage or criticism.

Earlier in October, clashes between Trump and Fox ensued after the network released a poll that showed 51 percent of Americans want Trump impeached and removed from office.

Trump responded by saying that Fox News pollsters suck and that Fox is much different than it used to be in the good old days.
The Trump 2020 campaign also said that the poll belonged in the garbage due to its alleged oversampling of Democrats.
FOX is dead to me...................
CNN and Fox News being exposed today from opposite ends of the spectrum.
Dead to me as well.
Trump mocks people, what’s sauce for the goose...
FOX is no surprise, really. The Murdoch boys ain’t their father...................
Meanwhile, Biden is giving the MSM direct orders about what questions to ask and what to focus on.
I’ve always liked Martha. Too bad.
I detect a NeverTrumper.
Fox News hosts Bret Baier, Chris Wallace, and Martha MacCallum
All show their disdain for the President and his supporters on a daily basis, this should not surprise anyone.
Other than primetime and morning Fox News is indistinguishable from any other outlet of the Ministry of Propaganda.
Never Trumper, eh
Fox is unreliable since they allow liars to talk so much.
Bret Baier, Chris Wallace, and Martha MacCallum have always been Trump haters so this is not new. The network was celebrating when Obama won in 2008, celebrated in 2012 when Obama won, and looked like a deer in a headlight when Trump won in 2016
I understand Romney is running.
“Bret Baier, Chris Wallace, and Martha MacCallum”
I had my suspicions about Martha though I rarely watch her. This just confirms it.
If that’s all they said then that is not really a mocking......
However, Wallace is an inside Washington guy....total swamp creature.....
Martha is just embarrassing to watch....she has a difficult time drawing logical answers from simple facts.....
Overall Fox is good, don’t agree with them all the time but they’re the best we got....Have any doubts, watch CNN for 5 minutes...you’ll puke.....
If you’ve see who’s running the joint, this ain’t news.
It’s not exactly a secret that all 3 are anti-Trumpers.
You are correct, she has always been a Trump hater. She has to be a leading candidate to replace Shep Smith
