Students on the Auraria campus in Denver say they are concerned about their safety due to a large number of homeless people camping out in buildings on campus, defecating in public areas and sleeping in elevators.
The campus -- located immediately southwest of downtown -- is home to the Community College of Denver, the University of Colorado Denver and Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Cameron Malby is a senior at CU Denver. He says he's seen arrests and confrontations involving homeless people on campus.
"He was just looking for a place to sleep. Everyday you go in the Tivoli (Student Union) or the library and there's people that aren't students just camping out there," Malby said.

homeless defecation ping.
They should be concerned.
They will be the next homeless group with their useless degrees in Social Justice crap and mountains o student debt that cannot repay..................
How can you tell?.................
Get a ton of old bunk beds and invite them in
C’mon kids, you’re getting the first look at your socialist paradise! Where’s your inclusiveness indoctrination? Too much white privilege?!
Colleges promulgate liberal values. Vagrants sleeping in doorways and crapping on the sidewalk is consistent with those liberal values. I hope the kids wake up and smell the urine.
Uh huh. And your governor is a rich fag from The People’s Sewer Of Kommiefornia. Welcome to the destruction of Kolorado. You asked for it. Now you’re going to get it.
Yep literally smell the urine.
That’s a tough problem if they have carpeting there. Urine can soak in and exude an awful odor. It’s a heck of a problem to cleanse and eradicate.
Just ANOTHER Democrat-destroyed environment...they just keep coming.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
and .. Trump supporters target Crow, call on Democrats to drop impeachment inquiry.
I drive in Denver a lot, at least 3 days a week, and have for more than 6 years.
There has been a big increase in visible homelessness since the legalization of marijuana. Today there are lots of younger beggars, men who look healthy and capable of working.
This is simply another symptom.
The law of unintended consequences strikes again. This is what happens when you loosen drug laws. You become a magnet for addicts from all over the country.
Californians over ran the state in the 1990s...I left the state in 2001...The future of the United States in twenty years..
Democrats flee the states they have ruined and start over..
“’I’d just like to get the conversation started: what we can do about it?’ said Malby.”
You can’t do anything about it, sucker. You are in a Progressive controlled city and state. If your betters in government thought you could do something about it, they would fix the system so you could not.
What do you think you are? A citizen or something? That’s not allowed where you are now!
At one point the leftists were trying to push to allow the homeless to live in parks. It failed. No doubt this would have affected the campus.
They should let them move into the dorms with them, problem solved.
“Democrats flee the states they have ruined and start over...”
And it’s not just states. I moved into my home in 1979. I loved it, because we had the lowest taxes, best roads, and best services (trash, water, snow plowing, etc) in the county.
It was a Republican run government.
Then the liberals and socialists began moving in and invading government. They brought their attitudes, problems and ideals with them.
Now the taxes and services are on a par with the rest of the county. They suck.
You can blame the marijuana for the increase of bums. However, you can also blame Denvers Road Home bureaucracy and the millions of dollars in local spending to give to the bums everything that they could possibly want. Denver is attracting bums from all over the USA to come to Denver to get all of the free stuff that the local Democrats want to give to them.
I spent the first 34 years of my life in Colorado, leaving in 2003 and never looking back. Homelessness was a big problem back then as well. Twenty years ago I lived in an apartment right on Capitol Hill and bums were everywhere. They ruined Denver's brand-new (at the time) public library with their vagrancy. The worst were the "crust punks" --dirty, young white men from Boulder who would panhandle aggressively on the 16th Street Mall.
Colorado's Front Range suffered a massive population boom during the 1990s that hasn't really stopped. It flipped the state's politics from conservative/libertarian to liberal. Legal marijuana is but a symptom of this, not the cause. Colorado was on the train to Clown World long before they legalized weed.
