I don’t see how that is even possible.

The Blue Angels have backup aircraft for each pilot in case one is found to have a problem at the last minute. I would think the Snowbirds would be no different. Even if both planes for a given pilot were bad, you could always borrow somebody else’s backup.

I can’t envision a universe where a Snowbirds mechanic would skimp on an inspection for any reason under the sun. I think they would fly one bird down rather than risk losing a bird to mechanical damage. Unthinkable.

Could be anything. They do have extra birds etc, and a cotter pin could of come off and a linkage came loose, or the engine ate something. I could probably find out what happened on Tuesday.
