The bodycam footage has been released and it is EXTREMELY damning to the cop.
Maybe because there wasn’t a burglary or a fight?
So now, if a cop sees you through the window of your own home in the middle of the night and begins barking orders, you’d better be able to grasp that A they’re barking at you, and B they will kill you by shooting you dead through the window.
Do I have that about right? The shooter belongs behind bars, I do not care what color he or his murder victim are, I do not care that he committed murder while wearing a police uniform.
This has got to stop. Nobody is ever going to trust police ever again if it doesn’t.

My son trained with the Albuquerque police when he was a federal officer. Each trainer had at least one legit kill. Does that make my son and these officers “murderers”?

I think there needs to be far more training related to mental health related calls.
Unless I was actually friends with the neighbor, I would call the police.
It's their job.
Why not call the police? A reasonable person would not say to himself, "Hmm, but if I call the police, and ask them to just ring the doorbell, some loco policeman might shoot the neighbor!"

I’m also not sure if enough mental health checks are done on officers themselves...just saying....
I lived near Ft. Worth for 21 years and if I was in a traffic stop by FWPD, they scared the hell out of me. They seemed to be on edge to use a firearm. Very unfriendly.

The officer was not alone.There were two officers at the home. Atatiana Jefferson was a pre-med grad of Xavier University. She was up late playing video games with her eight year old nephew as it was the weekend. She was not mentally ill.
But the cop who killed her, he might be. BTW, the gun found in her home was in her bedroom, not in the room where she and her young nephew were playing video games.
True, if it was a black cop and a white victim the races wouldn’t even be mentioned. for this, it leads the story. Amazing the jackals the press have become.
